I had an excellent time at this friendly Mom-and-pop restaurant. The food was simply delicious, in which I ordered the hot smoke and fries. In addition, the food is very reasonable. The next time I am in Roanoke, I will definitely stop by to try the fried fish.

Stopped by there bc I found the place online under soul food. Looked at the menu and only item close to soul food was mac and cheese which I assumed was baked. Got the bacon cheeseburger and potatoes salad and fry combo. The burger looks like it came out the microwave and had the texture and flavor to it as the tomatoes complete mush. The potatoe salad was the saving grace cause it actually had some flavor. I was excited when I was handed the back bc the amount of food that was on the trey. But for the amount I spent. I will def not go to this place. Again. Soul food is supposed to have flavor and texture. This should not be called soul food.

I love joints like this. It’s a small, local and family owned business that’s easy to miss, but it’s been in the area for a good while now.
The lady running the business is a little bit of a big girl so of course the food is gonna cooked homestyle and everything is good and fresh.
I’m not from the area, but if I’m in the area again, I’ll make a stop again.

A friend brought me here and I’m so happy I now know it exists. I had the fried pork chop sandwich which was exactly what I hoped for. My friend had a fried bologna sandwich and it looked so good I’ll have to try that next. It’s right next to a well traveled route to downtown. I recommend you check it out. (And the breakfast menu)
