Altos Cantina is a local gem that delivers both flavor and fun—whether you’re grabbing a brunch skillet, clinking cocktails for happy hour, or catching a game with friends. It’s especially well-suited to casual group dining and those looking for inventive Mexican-American fusion in a vibrant, family-friendly environment.

Selma is a class-act!
After visiting business around with Xero Accounting Software, we stopped in for a bite to eat and was blown away by the hospitality and a true “hole-in-wall gem”.
The surf and turf burrito I had was one of the best I’ve ever had (and I’m MEXICAN!) and the atmosphere had so much good local energy.
We spoke at length with the owner about helping them and their accountant expand their two locations… and trust me they’re growing fast!!!
Enjoy incredible food, drinks, and atmosphere 🙂

Quite disappointed. I was waiting at the bar. Not a busy evening and the bartender just ignored me to serve one of his friend who came in a few minutes after me. Also you spend 30-40 bucks and you will still be charged extra for even a small salsa. No thanks. There are many other options around. On vegetarian nachos they just put some corn and a few pickled jalapeños, melted in the microwave… for $17!!! the fish tacos were so incredibly mid and they cost nearly $8- Each! I do not recommend. The bits of salsa you see in the picture was the extra charge that we put on it.. still looking pretty sad.

This place is fantastic and they make a huge and super good blended margarita! The staff there is very friendly and super attentive and checked on us multiple times. It’s clean in there and the bathrooms are really clean and the bar seemed to be in proper order; something I’m sure Taffer would enjoy seeing. The food was great and the menu has pretty much anything you would expect to find in any Mexican restaurant. The chicken was exceptionally good. A+

Great chips and salsas to start—fresh and flavorful! We ordered a combo plate that included two carnitas street tacos served with beans, rice, greens, and fresh guacamole, as well as two enchiladas with verde sauce and an additional street taco. Everything was delicious and well-prepared. The setting was casual with seat-yourself dining, and the service was prompt and courteous throughout our visit. Definitely recommend for a satisfying and enjoyable meal!

Altos has a happy hour 3-5, but no Taco Tuesday special. Street tacos ala carte are $3.50 and worth the price. Tortillas were fresh and supple, if not made in house. I had the carne asada, pastor, and chorizo. All were well-seasoned and tender, generously portions with fresh tasty topping. The house red and green salsas were flavorful and just hinting at pica. Service was good. Ambiance is just a touch noisy, but hey, it’s a cantina. Recommended.

Great little place!
Glad to see this location with a successful local bar and eatery!
The food was good! For the price it’s very good!
The margaritas were spot on perfect!
Lots of TVs to watch the sporting events.
We went in early afternoon so there wasn’t a crowd but I’ve driven by on several occasions when they were parking on the street so I can only imagine how packed it was inside.
We’ll definitely be back!

This was our first time here. We were passing through on our way home. What a gem! We will definitely be back to try more menu items. The chips are crispy and both salsas were awesome. The single tacos were one Baja fish and one crispy pastor. Hubby got the enchilada plate and he said the sauce was spot on. Jessica was attentive, quick and helpful!

Me and my boyfriend stopped by for some quick street tacos. They serve you complementary chips and salsa upon arrival. We ordered the al pastor, birria, asada, chicken tacos. They are pretty good if you want a quick bite at a good price too. We got the paloma drink, I do wish it was stronger but it was refreshing other the less.

First time there tonight and the food was fantastic! The atmosphere was really great too. Our waitress was a doll, she answered our questions and never made us feel rushed. The service is phenomenal l, in can’t remember ever being served so quickly. It’s a gem in West Sacramento for sure! The Watermelon Margarita was delicious and my husband was pleased with how cold his beer was! This will definitely be a go-to place for us.

UPDATE June 18, 24:
We went for HH the other day and it didn’t disappoint our taste buds! Great service and quality.
Also notice how they change the menu to reflect the extra charge on the ceviche!
Thank you for listening to my feedback.
LOOK at your receipt before paying.
Food was good, service was good.
I got the CEVICHE CAMPECHANO which was
Combo of Shrimp (camarón), Octopus (pulpo) & Fish (pescado). As stated on the menu.
When we paid, they added $4 for the octopus! Originally we were told it was extra and they stood firm with it.
I asked for the menu to see the price, and I explained the verbiage doesn’t say anything about the octopus being extra.
Wasn’t worth asking for that $4 refund since we already paid, but I did express that if it’s $4, they need to change the wording.
