We were pleasantly happy with our experience at China Wok. We were greeted warmly, ordered without any issues and she ensured our dietary needs were met. The food was hot, fresh, and delish. It was also enough to have left overs for the next day. Inside is small and doesn’t accomodate large parties but this is a great option for takeout in a pinch.

I think it’s different people running it now and I don’t like it anymore.
I ordered 4 combos and 2 Qts of soups.
Chicken and garlic was in a pink sweet sauce I tasted No Garlic at all.
Chicken and shrimp was the same exact sauce.
Chicken and mushrooms…yeah again the Same pink sauce!!!
Egg rolls were terrible mushy and couldn’t see what was inside it, it looked like mush but THREE different chicken dishes in the Same sauce, Oh and a boneless BBQ pork comb too. It was so tough, with that I knew it would be a pink sauce.
The soups were OK just that egg drop was so greasy and I specifically asked for Scallions but none..Wonton was just OK but they did put Scallions in that one.
7$ for a Qt of soup isn’t cheep especially if you’re having it as a meal.
Fried rice wasn’t good either, it’s sad when rice is so mushy and oily with nothing else in it unless you pay extra for pork or vegetables.
This was always my go to place, no more.

We stopped here since not many places were opened on Christmas. The food was average, but prices and portions were great. Customer service was exceptional. Very friendly and attentive staff. It was nice to have a table to sit and eat. Restaurant and restroom was very clean.

Being from Asia and having tasted really good Chinese food, I’m very fussy about Chinese food and just could not get a real hit the spot meal since we moved to Florida. Yesterday, we tried China Wok and I was impressed. The service and cleanliness was a 5 star and the prices and portions too. The only reason I give a 4/5 on the food is very personal since I would prefer more spicy but I added my heat, and truly enjoyed the meal and would recommend it hands down. This is going to be our go to place here on!

We were craving Chinese takeout tonight and I didn’t feel like driving to our favorite restaurant, (Fire Wok), at Vilano Beach. I remembered reading that a new family from Chicago took over the China Wok in the Winn-Dixie North Plaza and decided to give them a try. I was honestly a little nervous as this place used to have, IMO, the worst Chinese food in all of St. Augustine. I have given them a few chances over the years and the food was always terrible.
Our experience tonight was totally different. When I went in to pick up our order I noticed the restaurant was extremely clean and repainted with murals on the walls, (a huge difference from before as it always appeared dingy). The lady who gave me my my order was also extremely kind.
We ordered Hot and Sour Soup,(extra spicy), Egg drop and Wonton Soup, Beef with Broccoli and Szechuan Beef, (extra spicy). What a huge difference from before! Every single thing we ate was delicious…they even made my dishes extra spicy as requested. The included egg rolls were obviously hand made, flavorful and not greasy at all.
I’m happy we decided to give this place another try and would recommend it based on tonight’s experience.

My hubby loved The bourbon chicken and my curry chicken was delicious as well ! Love all the fresh veggies they put in it for dessert we had the sweet donuts and my husband ate them so fast I couldn’t get a picture .

Chicken fried rice has extremely white chicken in it, like it’s boiled, or maybe not chicken(?) The bourbon chicken is NOT like the mall bourbon chicken whatsoever. We weren’t a fan. Also not a fan of the sauce used on the noodles. The wontons were good, came with sweet and sour sauce. I ordered 8 count and got 9. The prices on their menu are LOWER than actual. See my ticket against the menu. It’s close to home but I don’t think we’ll be back.

I ordered delivery for lunch today. It arrived quickly and everything was hot and delicious. The delivery driver was kind to drop the food off at my door and wave/thank me from the bottom of my porch steps.

Oily, greasy – I have twice been desperate and come in for Chinese food. Sadly, I have been disappointed both times. During the summer, the tiny eating area was filled with whom I assumed to be the owner’s or an employee’s young children playing, so noisy. BUT, this is not truly a sit down and eat restaurant. In general, what St. Augustine lacks is a true, sit down, non-buffet, chinese restaurant with only part of the menu made up of stereotypical to-go items.
