Service was friendly and professional throughout the evening. The food was surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant — truly exceeded our expectations.
We tried the evening special, lobster with pappardelle in a vodka cream sauce, along with the braised short rib, and the fried fish with plantains. Everything was delicious and arrived hot to the table.
We also tried their award-winning key lime pie. It was tasty but not sure why it would win any awards.
We really enjoyed the entire dining experience, along with the gorgeous sunset.

We had dinner on a Tuesday evening in early December. Since that’s the off season, the restaurant was pretty empty.
This is a pleasant atmosphere to dine in. Service was very attentive and there was a nice menu to choose from. The food was delicious and expertly prepared. We enjoyed the fried calamari appetizer, pan seared yellow tail tuna with french beans and jasmine rice, a side order of broccolini, and rum cake with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
It was a relaxing evening and we would return the next time we vacation in the area.

Breakfast at Calusa was underwhelming, which unfortunately mirrors much of the food experience at Bakers Cay overall. The home fries were dry and bland, and the sausage links came across as slightly undercooked. On the positive side, the coffee and orange juice were excellent.
However, the high price point makes the shortcomings harder to overlook. The environment felt rushed rather than relaxed, and the water views—likely beautiful at one time—are now largely obstructed by overgrown vegetation.
Overall, the food at Bakers Cay is simply too expensive for the quality delivered, and breakfast at Calusa was no exception.

We had an amazing dinner at Calusa! Our waiter was attentive and the food was really delicious! They also had a decent wine/cocktail list and we ended up ordering a bottle of bubbles since it was our first night at the resort. We were dining just as the sun was setting and everyone eating there was served a glass of sunset bubbles…a very nice touch! We also came here for breakfast the next day and our food was equally as good.

This was the best dinner experience we’ve had in a long time. We were told the restaurant underwent renovations and the menu was overhauled by a new chef. It was outstanding! My wife had the ribeye with a lobster tail and I had fish. Both meals were excellent, as was the service. I highly recommend booking at sunset as the view was spectacular!

We went here for our rehearsal dinner and the morning after our wedding while we stayed at Bakers Cay. They made the celebrations we had so special. The staff was very attentive and celebratory and helped us have a great time. When the sun went down, they had a complimentary champagne toast – it was beautiful! Highly disappointed in the quality and service. My husband and I ordered the prosciutto wrapped scallops, which were not good. They were drenched in oil and the presentation was gross. For dinner, I got the pappardelle which was also extremely oily and the pasta was over cooked and rubbery. Very disappointing considering it was their “pasta night” my husband got the ox tail ragu gnocchi and it literally tasted like bbq sauce. The ox tail was tough. Our waiter disappeared for 40 minutes and continued to see us in passing to get to other tables and said “be right back” but never came back…lol! The table next to us was also having a bad service experience, and we were finally able to get their waiter to give us the check. However, then our waiter told us that our dinner was paid for and ran away. We were confused and waited, turned out they tried to give our check to the table next door even though they did not ask for that. Terrible food, terrible service, and extremely over priced

We were really looking for the restaurant to open. In previous trips food here was great. We ordered 3 groupers this time, like we often do and to my disappointment that was… I don’t want to say the worst, but yes it was. Like a piece of rubber. I didn’t say anything, cause I didn’t want to make scene in front of company but that was just a waste.

Either for breakfast or dinner the food is great. Chef inspired and individually prepare dishes. The vinager sauce for the oysters was fantastic! The staff members are polite and attentive. The food was worth the wait and the view from the restaurant is wonderful. We had an amazing time at Baker’s Cay Resort.
