We stopped in after seeing a show at The Bell House. The space is very nice but doesn’t lean on the traditional stereotypical mexican decor. The menu is small but has a lot of options. We shared the spicy guacamole (pictured), my wife got the tortilla soup and I got 2 tacos (Chorizo & Pibil). We really liked everything we tried. We also got margaritas which were fine. The service was friendly and attentive. We would probably stop here again if we’re in the area for dinner.

Had the Azteca soup and by far one of the best I’ve ever had. Also, got the chicken tacos. I also had the enchiladas verdes, and were some of the best I’ve eaten.

Visiting from out of town and stumbled across this swanky little place. I was alone so decided to sit at the bar. Was happily greeted by staff and the food was amazing. Beria tacos were so yummy and full of flavor. Bartender made me an off menu mezcal old fashioned that was very good. Had a great time! Wish I lived closer because I’d be a regular!

A little fancier than what we expected.. The food was good, not too great. The limes were dry as hell and the esquite was really watery. But the two diff tacos were good.

The food was great and very reasonably priced (guac and tortilla — a lot of places the tortillas are meh, but both were great). The mushroom quesadilla and the taquitos were also delicious. I ordered a beer which they brought out in a frozen glass, so I had super-cold beer throughout the meal (a nice touch 🙂 ). Service was very friendly and helpful. We were there for dinner but brunch also looks like a great deal. Would definitely go back.

This place has the best carne asada I’ve ever had! Also had the birria tacos which were good as well. Extremely intimate, so be aware it’s not much of a full blown restaurant and more like a few tables around. If I come back in town, this would be the first place I’d visit!

All around, every dish was a ten. From the aguachile negro, tacos de birria, chicken with mole and duck carnitas. We had the churros with a caramel sauce that was pure perfection. The owner was so kind and gave us tres leches to go as a surprise. We devoured it when we got home. Oh did I mention the unique and delicious craft tequila and mezcal? Pure delight. The atmosphere is laid back and authentic. A must try in Gowanus!

The orange hot sauce is INCREDIBLE. Best hot sauce I’ve had anywhere. Wish they sold it by the bottle! Takes the already delicious food from good to great.

Let me start by saying that I used to not like Mexican food. That’s because I was used to Tex-Mex. This place is more traditional. I had Additctivo Plata and Blanco. It was solid. My esquite had really good flavor. My Molcajete was awesome. The chorizo sausage had all the sabor. The Cojita was fresh. Camarones was cooked perfectly. My steak was a perfect medium. I’ll definitely be back.
