The only way I can describe the food is mediocre at best. Seemed like a decent value given today’s economy. Size portion is on the smaller side of average but completely acceptable given the pricing. But quality is best described as subpar but edible. I had the curry with pork #13, which is advertised as the recommended dish. Found clumps of partially mixed curry powder in the sauce. Pork was done well. Rice was slightly soggy. Also ordered a yaki udon which looked nothing like the photo on the order board. Udon was barely seared and looked just boiled it anything. Mostly cabbage and a few pieces of thin sliced pork. Not worth the charge price of $15. I was hopeful and hungry when I tried this place. I can’t recommend given all the short comings.

They serve great Japanese food with homemade taste to them. I’d recommend their tonkatsu curry. The curry is salty, thick, and flavourful, but not overly strong and spicy. The pork katsu is firm and crunchy, giving them a homemade taste. The portion is enough to fill you, and the price is reasonable.

Food is on the lower side of average. Like it’s not bad but it’s definitely not worth $15 . Size is on the smaller side too. Not horrible but wouldn’t recommend it.
Chairs are better now than before but u need to enter by the outside door only which is annoying…
Also why call it cafe tea? It’s a restaurant and they don’t have hot beverages.!
Worst part tho is the sign saying no water, which last time i checked it’s illegal in canada to refuse to provide water to another human

The restaurant is located in a cozy and spacious corner inside J Town. Their curry with deep fried pork chop or chicken are delicious. Today my friend ordered the omelette rice which takes time to cook and I followed to order the oyakodon which is also take some time to cook so we can start eating at the same time. The price is not high that won’t break your wallet for sure.

A teishoku style Japanese canteen. Home style cooking was affordable. Food is decent but nothing too amazing. Had the katsudon and it was good. Recommended if you want a laid back atmosphere.

The Japanese curry is really good. It hearty, flavourful and not spicy. We tried the Curry egg on rice and Curry (pork chop) Katsu Don. I would say the pork chop was a bit over done. For quick eat, don’t mind a cafeteria kind of feel and looking for great Japanese curry I would come here.

Kitsune Udon $13.98
Standard both with udon and a few slices of fish cake and tofu. It’s ok. Seems a bit expensive for what it is.
Rice Omlette $12.98
A stir fried rice with a few small pieces chicken wrapped up in egg and topped up with a light ketchup sauce. Ok.
For a quick meal, it’s ok. But don’t expect something fancy here.

Where can you dine in with this price in GTA? I was surprised by their price. They make few Asian dishes in home made style. It reminded me the time back when I was studying in Japan.
The portion is not big but reasonable. Curry is good but I found it quite spicy for me it was good.
I think many people enjoys coming and take out here so it gets busy sometimes

I’ve been to Cafe Green Tea a couple of times for lunch, and the food has always been fresh and consistently good. It’s a simple, comforting spot inside J‑Town, and everything I’ve tried has had that homemade, reliable taste. A nice place to stop for a quick, satisfying Japanese meal.
