Disappointed that I have lived here this long and have never tried this place before. Food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Bento box was very generous and filling. The general Tso chicken was good with meaty pieces that were not all breading. We dined in, the dining area is utilitarian and this place is geared more for take out. Will definitely visit again.

I am not from the area but I just eloped in Shenandoah in October and we decided to order take out as “catering” and Kyoto and the staff were amazing! We had more than enough food for everyone and we got multiple compliments from family about how delicious everything was. We called a few days ahead to talk with the staff about our order so we weren’t placing a massive order out of nowhere. They helped us determine how much to get for the number of people, helped us determine what was vegan for a few guests and even threw in a complimentary salad. They called us about an hour before our scheduled pick up to make sure we were still good for the order and everything was ready in time. I highly recommend and they helped to make our special day wonderful, without even knowing

I will start by saying I am extremely picky about where I ordered Asian food from. My mom suggested this place and they did not disappoint! I ordered 2 chicken on a stick -plenty of meat, cooked perfect. One beef lo mein- meat was seasoned great and noodles were nicely cooked. One Hunan chicken – this is my favorite dish of all time and I am usually disappointed. This time was a surprising exception. It brought back memories of the first time I ever had Hunan chicken (siagon cafe- sorely missed restaurant ran by the Li family). The flavor was there, the spiciness was perfect -most places are lacking in the spice even though it’s supposed to be a spicy dish. Plenty of tender chicken, crisp but tender veggies. It was absolutely delicious. One chicken fried rice, we haven’t tried it yet but it looked and smelled good. Also ordered a hot and sour soup. It came in a quart container and was one of the best hot and sour soups I’ve had. The portions are large, delicious, and worth every penny. I’ve got a little left and can’t wait to dig in to it later.

Tried Kyoto Sushi in Ruckersville. Got the Scallop Teriyaki Bento, Royal Roll, and Taige Roll, all were good and fresh. They were quick with the order too. Mostly a takeout place but has a few tables; I ate inside and it was fine. Prices are about what you’d expect for sushi. Solid spot, I’d go back.

We got an assortment of rolls and a side of edamame- we will definitely be back! The food was fresh and delicious- our favorite being the black dragon roll. We also got the rainbow roll and two California rolls- highly recommend!

I ordered fried rice with extra vegetables and of course they accommodating me. Very nice people. I did ask them if they had mung beans or bean sprouts and they said they did not use those cuz people didn’t like them. That broke my little heart but the fried rice was delicious is delicious I’m still eating it and I got it at 2:00 today and I have so much that I’m still eating on it. Thank you so much.

As a sushi snob, I can wholeheartedly say this is the best sushi place in the area. The service was top notch, but most importantly they serve real sushi! Not just imitation seafood!
The salmon was amazingly juicy and buttery. The eel was delicious too and I loved how many salmon and eel options were on the menu. And hand rolls! You don’t get those just anywhere.
The portions were generous, including sides, and the sushi was fresh. You can’t ask for more.
We will definitely be back and we can’t wait to explore the entire menu.

Went in to sit down for lunch. Ended up not being able to stay due to work and took my meal to go. I ordered chicken hibachi and it was delicious! There are three booths so you can eat in and they have plenty of parking. Easy to find and again, delicious!

I’m not really a big fan of American Chinese food, it is usually either too starch heavy or too sweet, but this place has become an exception for me. Everything is flavorful without leaning too heavily towards trying to please the American palate. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still American Chinese cuisine, but it’s done very well. My favorite dish is the Singapore Mei Fun, which they absolutely nail! It’s perfect! I’m also a big fan of their fried rice, it’s simple, they don’t toss in the medley of frozen peas and carrots or other vegetables that just distract from the dish and taste like sad, it’s just the protein, shallots, rice, and flavor, just how I like it. The sushi menu is pretty good as well, I’ve never tried anything and not liked it. This place has easily my favorite American Chinese food in the entire Charlottesville area! And that’s saying something, as I’ve tried a great deal of them.

Really enjoyed our sushi! The special rolls were huge, twice the size I was expecting and about 10 dollars each. It’s a low key restaurant as far as decorations go, so I was pleasantly surprised at the plate presentation. Will definitely eat there again.
