This a great stop if you are hungry in Pottstown. I saw a few people on Instagram talking about their cheesesteaks so I figured I would stop in and try. So I got a cheesesteak, cooper sharp, and raw onion. Let me tell you I was very happily impressed. As far as a cheesesteak goes in the suburbs, this one is pretty damn good not better than most places in Philly but it was perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked, and the bread was phenomenal with that soft interior and good crunch outside. Sadly they didn’t have seeded rolls, but that’s OK. This gets a solid 8.5/10 on the cheesesteak. But the service was a 10/10 the guy that waited on me was awesome! I will be back!!

What’s up foodies? While away caring for my mother, I decided to give these guys a try based on reviews from people I know in Pottstown. The fries were average at best. They are your normal straight cut fry. They tasted as if they were seasoned with salt, but the seasoning could’ve come from the fryer being used. Anyway, the fries were very basic and to be honest the cheese used is suspect. Personally, I do not think I was served “Whiz” as in Cheese Whiz! Real Cheese Whiz has a distinct aroma and taste and I didn’t get that once I began eating. This is very disappointing because Cheese Whiz is so much better than the alternatives out there which are the canned, cheese sauces. Those who know and have experience like I do, know when an eatery doesn’t use REAL CHEESE WHIZ. Perhaps they ran out and had to use the alternative, but it didn’t matter because their actual fry itself is as basic as they come. The cheesesteak on the other hand was a pleasure to eat. It had my taste buds tumbling more than a dryer. It was very good ladies & gents. It was seasoned to perfection and I mean perfection. Some places over do it with seasoning, but Pudges are spot on with it. I asked for extra onions and I’m glad I did because there weren’t enough even with the extra. My only gripe about this cheesesteak is that the ribeye wasn’t thinly sliced. It was more chopped than anything. at the pictures and videos carefully and you’ll see that the steak almost look like ground beef. I strongly believe this is due to it being chopped as opposed to being sliced. The ribeye probably was sold as sliced, but once on the flat top, it was chopped. Trust me I know. There is a method to it. It’s how you hold the spatulas and the angle being used. I am mentioning this because I am not a fan of chopped cheese sandwiches. It’s the texture of the meat that kills it for me, but I ate through it and actually enjoyed this cheesesteak very much. Is it better than Gazzos? No! Is it better than Spenny’s? No! It’s not top tier, but it’s very good, satisfying and will not break your bank. With that being said. My name BigDaveIsFat says it all!

If you look up cheese steaks in the area of Pottstown it is essentially gazzos and a few competitors. Pudgies popped up for my husband and I on the way home and it was more convenient at the time than considering the hustle and bustle of parking in Pottstown for gazzos and the wait etc. Now I love gazzos for the thrill of a bougie and different cheese steak experience but… PUDGIES is where we are going 100% for a solid classic cheese steak. Meat and cheese portion 10/10 and when you say hot peppers you get legitimate hot peppers!! Vs the banana peppers. Price is average for a solid cheese steak and fries are solid not the best in the world but def good enough as a side companion to a phenomenal cheese steak!! Craved a good cheese steak last night & following that last experience… went right to order Pudgies! Also, take out wise timing is average but has been on the faster side for us during peak hours.

I’ve been searching for a great cheesesteak place near me (Phoenixville). I definitely found it. It’s a beautiful ride down 23 to get there and wow, it did not disappoint. I got a large cheesesteak hoagie with long hots and cooper sharp. It was huuuge. Took me two days to eat it lol. Every part of it was great. The bread, seasoning, meat & cheese ratio—all perfect(in my opinion) for how I like my cheesesteak. Even the young lady who rung me up was very pleasant and helpful. I’ll definitely be back

I met the owner today in the restaurant. He was out at a table sitting down. He was very nice and I enjoyed meeting him. The restaurant was cute. When I pulled up it looked like a converted garage. The interior continued the theme. The lovely girl that took my order was very nice. The food came out quickly. I took it to go. Just got back and was able to eat it. It’s is everything they say and more. I got a mushroom cheesesteak and all I can say is I can’t wait to go back. I don’t have a single complaint. I will say, if your in the area go and order. I’ll be back when I’m in town.

The cheesesteak world is still new to me, so we’ve been trying a bunch of new places. I’ll start by saying the meat here is top quality. I didn’t come across one single chewy fatty piece (which I find so gross). It wasn’t too salty either. Now for the negatives-my husbands cheesesteak hardly had any meat and for $19 you better get a fair amount. I’m celiac so when a place has gluten free rolls (Like Jays in Royersford) that’s a massive plus. Pudge’s did not. My long hot peppers were mushy and I had to spit a bad one out, and my raw onions weren’t cut… they were just massive rings which I found extremely odd. Overall I wouldn’t order from here again.

This weekend during the Bird’s game we ordered sandwiches from here. We expected to wait a while due to the game. Well it turns out we got the worst food delivery driver we’ve ever had. The time went from 2:15 pm to 3:45pm. The guy accepted the order and just didn’t go to pick it up. After half an hour Pudge’s called and told us the clown didn’t even show up yet. That is how we noticed. We appreciate the heads up and they said they would call by (x) time if he didn’t show up. So the driver eventually meandered in there and got the food. I fully expected to get a cold cheesesteak, we even pre-heated the oven. To my pleasant surprise the sandwich was hot and fresh. Not warm…… hot. I don’t know if they made another one or kept it nice and warm somehow, but it was hot and delicious. I have always enjoyed the food here, but it is very refreshing to come across this kind of customer service from an establishment in this day and age. Especially because the bumbling buffoonery of the driver was no fault of Pudge’s. 10/10 will order again!
