We went here on their grand opening day and were impressed with how smooth things were with so many people inside! The line moved quickly and the food came out hot and delicious. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and chicken tender plate. Their sweet tea was made just right. Al the manager was walking around and checking in on the tables. Super friendly and cheerful guy! Definitely check this place out! Good food and great service! We’ll be back!

Zaxby’s Plainfield has officially arrived, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally have a Zaxby’s in Illinois! The staff was incredibly friendly, and Andrea, the GM, was amazing—she was on top of everything, making sure all guests were taken care of and satisfied with their orders.
My friend and I stopped in on opening day for lunch when it was -4 degrees outside . Even with a busy drive-thru and several people dining inside, everything ran smoothly. The food was hot, fresh, and clearly made with care.
My favorite item is the lemon pepper chicken tenders—top-tier quality. The chicken was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked (not dry, rubbery, or overdone). Absolute perfection. The white cheddar bites were also amazing.
Congratulations to the Zaxby’s team on a fantastic opening—I’ll definitely be back!

Food was great. I’m still in a food-coma. Chicken was zesty and the shakes were thick.
We ordered ahead on a Friday night. Boy, was it busy. Be prepared to order ahead and expect your order might take a little longer than expected. I would imagine they are still working out some kinks which is understandable. They seemed to be very well staffed which is a great sign. You can tell some of the workers were a little shell shocked but they were all very kind.
Once they get their feet under them, they’ll be filling orders quicker than the Culver’s next door.

We were first timers to try Zaxby’s and overall it was ok/decent. Did not love it, did not hate it.
Ordered a large combo box with 20 tenders, fries and bread for $36. Additionally we purchased a side of cheese curds – had asked if able to upcharge one of the fry sides for a curd but cashier was unable to or did not know how. It was very busy so we just ordered as an additional side which was fine too.
Tenders were hot and crispy, but felt lacking flavor. Fries were OK but overly peppered, cheese curds would not order again, not flavorful and portion seemed a bit small for $5.99… get them next door instead.
Lastly ordered a strawberry lemonade and it tasted like pure sugar syrup – potentially a handmade item so likely need more practice.
Zax sauce was bland, borderline too sweet? which was an odd unexpected takeaway. Prefer another competitors sauce more.
Service overall was actually pretty good being first Friday open, friendly enough, and a shout out to Al who we could tell was enjoying his job and going above and beyond.
We would visit again in a few weeks to give the food another go, but unlikely will be put into our rotation of go-tos.

Visited Zaxby’s in Plainfield, Illinois around 10 PM on a Sunday night and unfortunately the experience was disappointing. I ordered the Zax Pack (three tenders, fries, drink, and toast) and added an extra toast. The food was not fresh. Everything was just about cold. Not even warm, and everything tasted a bit salty. I also ordered a Coke but received a Diet Coke instead.
Customer service was lacking as well. One person took my payment, but a different employee handed me the food without saying thank you or even acknowledging me, no friendliness or basic courtesy. Overall, the experience felt rushed and impersonal. Sadly, I doubt I will be back. Very disappointed being I first had them in Georgia and was very pleased.

Where do I begin as there is a lot to unpack here. Drove over 40 minutes to check out this location as my daughter has been wanting to try them for a while.
Interior is cramped, no ample space to not be right on the next table or booth.
No cleaning being done. With all the labor that was working, someone should have been out doing a sweep, mop and cleaning of the lobby/sitting area. Spilled soda, trash and unclean tables and floors are not a good look.
Service is extremely slow. We would have gotten food faster at the Culver’s next door.
The food was absolutely terrible. Toast was dry with no flavor, extremely small chicken fingers with no taste and no seasoning on the fries. Served on a cheap black plastic plate if your dining in….with no ketchup.
Had to ask for ketchup which had sticky dried up goo on the packets.
Disappointing, terrible never again. When I tried the locations in Georgia, it was way better.

On 2.27.26 Zaxby’s we eagerly placed an order for 1 wings and things, 1 Zaks surf and turf and 3 nibblers, they messed up our order they only gave us the Zaks surf and turf and 1 wings and things.They didn’t provide us our 3nibblers order they only gave a small drink for that. The order no. is 255862937. We paid 40$ that clearly indicates they charged for 3nibblers. It would be great if you check this order and if possible refund us for 3nibblers order and please don’t mess up anyones order. Since it would take 1/2 hr drive, my husband didn’t want to go back to get it. The food tasted ok.

Went here for the first time today and I do want to say everything was amazing! Coming from someone who knows raising Cane’s is completely overrated and overhyped for basic bland food. The fact alone that Zaxby’s has more choices on their menu compared to canes makes Zaxby’s so much better. With canes you have to rely on their cane sauce for their chicken. The tenders here at Zaxby’s can be eaten without sauce, because they’re actually seasoned and same with the fries however the Zaxby’s sauce is still a great accompaniment if you wish to the chicken. Me and my wife, both did the surf and turf and an order of fried pickles and a cookie butter shake which was definitely the best thing we got. Everything was great. The only gripes if any are 1. when we were brought our food, we got everything but the shake so I had to go back up and ask for it and they had to make it because it was never made but the gentleman at the counter apologized and when it was done he brought it to our table. I’ve worked plenty in the restaurant industry so I understand stuff happens It’s really no big deal. 2. the fried pickles portion could of been bigger for the price. 3. this isn’t a gripe but just an observation is the inside seating area is pretty small so you might have a hard time finding a place to sit if it’s busy we lucked out and grabbed one of the last tables, but we noticed other people looking for tables when they were all taken. Definitely will be back!
