I visited the Natick location (there’s also one in Brookline), which offers both breakfast and lunch. Upon entering, there’s a counter that appears set up for takeout orders, along with a selection of house-made items like bagel chips and pastries— a nice touch that adds to the experience.

Our group opted for lunch and tried a variety of items: a tuna melt, a build-your-own sandwich, hot dogs, and a knish filled with beef (a savory pastry with various filling options).

Everything we tried was enjoyable—well-prepared and satisfying. While the food wasn’t particularly unique or extraordinary, it was a solid meal, and we appreciated the range of options available on the menu.

Today has been my first time going to this restaurant in a couple of years. I don’t know what has happened but saying the food has gone downhill might be giving them an upgrade. The chopped liver is a dark brown like dark dark brown I’ve never seen chopped liver this color before. Definitely not a Jewish recipe. The saltiest on tasting chopped liver I have ever tried in my life. It is no longer Jewish food in there. There is not a Jew out there that would make that chop liver for any holiday taste like this. And the Reuben. The meat is like rubber I have to not just bite down but have to use my fingers to rip it apart I can’t even finish the sandwich like this I now have to use a rigid knife and fork. I could have sworn there was Russian dressing That was supposed to come on here. When I saw the sandwich it looked dry as hell so I asked for extra dressing and tell me why when I got home and opened up my bag I have a white little cup that looks and tastes like tartar sauce. If you have ever been to this restaurant in the past before it was sold off you remember what the food was like. You shouldn’t go back you’re going to be disappointed. My feelings are a little bit hurt. My cholesterol is going to be crying because it’s chopped liver and my jaw hurts from taking two bites out of this dry sandwich. I would never recommend this restaurant. And if you know the previous owner is that they are still around send them in to go see what has happened. Tell them to order the chopped liver and a Reuben

Update 2025: We discovered this place two years ago, and it’s been one of our favorite breakfast/lunch spots ever since. Martha is our favorite server—she’s always so friendly and attentive, and truly a highlight of every visit! Our go-to menu items are the tuna sandwich, the lox platter, the potato pancakes and their amazing potato salad.

Original Review 2022: The place is bigger than I expected. I love the art on the walls, and the food is really good. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the potato salad was—definitely give it a try! Big fan of the pickles, sandwiches, and bagels, too.

Zaftig’s is an absolute must-stop in the MetroWest Boston area, especially if you love Jewish-inspired comfort food done right. The matzo ball soup is classic and deeply comforting, and the breakfast menu is incredible; the stuffed French toast alone is worth the visit.

Everything feels generous, thoughtfully prepared, and rooted in tradition. As chefs visiting the area, we were genuinely impressed by the quality, flavor, and consistency.

A standout spot for breakfast, lunch, or a nostalgic, satisfying meal!!!

Love the food here when I want something good and fresh, always good quality and great quantity for a good price. Great service and never upset when I leave. Drinks are nice and cute cool vibes, good to get a bite with someone and a little group. Nice for kids and family. Would recommend

Zaftigs has always been my go to place if I wanted an authentic, tasty pastrami sandwich. I has been several months since visiting so I was very much looking forward to one of those great sandwiches. Sadly the food was terrible. The meat was like rubber and did not taste right. I had the regular pastrami and my wife had the lean. We both could not believe the poor quality of the meat. It was not always like this. Things sure have changed for the worse.

Great atmosphere, great service, and my Rachel sandwich was perfection. The cole slaw was good, too! A great meal all around.

Yum! Had a typical wait on a Saturday morning but the staff was super helpful when we called in advance. Probably had the sourest pickles i’ve ever had in my life here (that’s a good thing, my mouth is watering right now). The Benedict on their potato pancakes was heavenly.

Really enjoyed our brunch at Zaftigs. The Eggs Benedict were fantastic. The only problem I have is that 3 slices of bacon costs $4 (as of February 2022). That’s an insane price to pay for bacon, so I won’t be making that mistake again. Service was great and our food was prepared as ordered.
