This place is great. I ordered a mutton Rogan Ghosht and some Pilau rice for dinner, and god was it amazing… Incredibly tender, juicy and spot-on mutton. As an Indian myself, I can tell you that Rogan Ghosht doesn’t get much better than this.
Also very kind staff, and nice cozy atmosphere.
Price-wise, I really can’t complain. The Rogan Ghosht was £10.50 and that’s a price I’d be willing to pay for it any day, especially considering the good amount of lamb. The Pilau rice was also on point, though perhaps a bit on the expensive side.
If you like Indian food, this is the place. They also have mild options, so don’t worry about the spice.
I would recommend it to anyone, and believe me when I say it’s worth driving to even though it’s not in the city centre.
Overall, excellent! I’ll be coming here again for sure.

Yet again another delectable meal from the Bengal Raj! The food is delicious and the standard excellent. It is one of our very favourite restaurants, the staff are friendly and always helpful and the prices are very reasonable. Thoroughly recommended! Thank you Bengal Raj. Christopher.

Fantastic meal. Amazing flavours and portion sizes. No greasy or oily dishes. Juicy tikka chicken. The most delicious special rice with tasty egg.
Best Indian restaurant we have found so far in Bristol!
See you soon!!

Hands down, the best Indian I’ve had in Bristol. Exceptional food, and a great menu. The staff were really lovely too, and great with our two year old daughter, even when she was having a good cry and being loud.

The food is consistently excellent, an extensive selection of curries, full of flavour and each with its distinct taste, we have only eaten in a few times but that’s just because we enjoy takeaways! My favourite Indian restaurant!

Ordered for collection. Haven’t had a curry from here in a few years when it was great before. Collection quick and easy. Staff friendly. We were quite disappointed with the food- popadoms, onion bahjees, curry and rice were not very good. Rice was an odd orange colour, not normal pilau rice. Very below average meal. £36 for 2 people, which is quite expensive when it wasn’t very good. Wouldn’t be coming again unfortunately.
