Twisted Fish Company Alaskan Grill has been a summer favorite for downtown Juneau, Alaska since we opened 24 years ago in May 2000. Whether you’re one of our local regulars or a summer guest, you’ll enjoy friendly service, delicious food, and beautiful views of the Gastineau Channel and Douglas Island mountains. The Twisted Fish offers an incredible range of surf and turf menu options to go with our wine selection, craft cocktails, and casual waterfront dining. We have a lovely cedar-walled dining room and bar, as well as an outdoor patio for Juneau’s sunny summer days. Find us conveniently located on South Franklin Street, next to the Mt. Roberts tram and just steps away from the cruise terminal.
Soaring windows provide water views in this casual seafood restaurant with an extensive wine list.

Overall this place was an okay place to enjoy lunch. It’s towards the end of the pier, but had no line unlike the other places we passed. The hot crab and artichoke did was very cheesy. The twisted pasta with salmon was delicious! Very large portion size. The prawns on the Barbie was tasty, but kind of plain. The highlight was the halibut. We ordered this after someone recommended it and we weren’t disappointed. The curly fries taste like any curly fries you had that come frozen in a bag. The codfish wasn’t great, so I would recommend just going with the halibut. The staff were friendly despite being busy. I’m not sure we would go again, but I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to eat in the port.

My partner heard of this place and I think ate here before. I really wanted to try Tracy’s because of Yelp reviews, but I also wanted to eat something other than crab.
ATMOSPHERE:
The place is bustling with tourists. It’s a wide open dining space with table seating, small bar area, and open kitchen. We sat at the bar for drinks and to eat. The entire room is wood from floor to ceiling. Very warm and inviting.
FOOD:
Cedar Plank Salmon – A nice sized fillet cooked on a cedar plank with a sweet & salty bourbon & molasses sauce for dipping, and a huge basket of seasoned curly fries. The salmon was tender and flavorful and the fries hot & crunchy.
SERVICE:
There was obviously a wait list because of the line. We stood right in front of the hostess stand for about 8 minutes, waiting for her to greet us. She kept looking at her list, tables and running utensils to tables. No eye contact, no greeting. Figuring we’d never be greeted, I interrupted her tunnel vision and asked for a table. SMH. In the mean time, I saw that the bar area was totally empty. We sat down for a beer and found out we could eat at the bar too. Perfect. The bartender Christian was awesome. He was patient, professional and super down to earth. He made the whole experience even better.
OVERALL:
Tourist hot spot but the food is really good. If the restaurant side is full, check out the bar area and sit there!

I’m glad I asked out driver for a local recommendation, because I probably wouldn’t have stopped at a restaurant so close to the cruise port. But Twisted Fish came through. Their plank baked salmon came with a sweet bourbon sauce and asparagus. It was flaky and cooked just right. My wife had the salmon in puff pastry with shrimps and came with a beurre rouge (red butter) sauce that was tangy and suite.

The Clam Chowder is the best we ever tasted so far. The seafood and clam almost melt in your mouth with its buttery soup that is perfectly spiced. The halibut and salmon are fresh and flaky with just the right amount of salt and pepper complimented with its blueberry sauce. The crab cakes have clumps of crab meat, you can really taste the freshness. The staff is friendly and service is fast. I highly recommend this restaurant when you visit Juneau, Alaska.

Couldn’t come to Alaska and not have king crab legs… Got 2 lbs and onion rings… everything was amazing!! Our waiter (can’t remember his name) was such a cutie and knew ya gotta have ranch with onion rings without asking ☺️

The food here is great. I got 1 pound of the king crab legs. They were so good. I also got the clam chowder which was amazing. It wasn’t a thick chunky chowder which I preferred. I definitely recommend them.

The staff was hammered by the docking cruise ships, but they were ever so attentive to us. We had made a reservation and it was waiting for us even as we arrived ten minutes early. The waiter came promptly and so did our food. They kept our beverages full and were completely professional in their serving. Then the delicious food came! I think this restaurant could up their game if they used linen napkins. There is just a bit of disappointment when seated at a nice restaurant with paper napkins.

Don’t get caught up waiting in line for a table at the other crab shack in town. This one hits the spot loved it, loved it, loved it. It was also better price and fantastic service loved the king crab. Everything we tried was fantastic.
