Cafe Bali is a hidden gem!! : r/bloomington – Reddit

Many dishes are around $10. I highly recommend their Indonesian fried chicken wings, Indonesian fried rice, and rendang curry (dry curry).

It’s a treat to find good Indonesian food in the Midwest! Rawon, Soto Ayam and, Nasi Goreng are very flavorful like those from Java. We’ll be back to try more.

A clean restaurant.

Reasonably priced to suit the University Students’ population. Portion sizes are good.

Milk tea and smoothie looked good. Will try next time.

This place is a hidden gem in Bloomington. As Indonesian food lovers, we wanted to give it a try. We ordered beef rendang, shrimp nasi goreng, shrimp shumai, and coconut milk tea. The nasi goreng and rendang were perfectly seasoned and flavorful. The tea was good & the shumai was just okay. A plus is the limited free parking they offer. The interior is basic, and it seems most people prefer take-away food, as the place was empty when we were there.

Love the atmosphere, and everything was delicious! A lot of the international restaurants in town failed to bring the heat, but not here!

Choose your spice level and they will not disappoint! Love the heart-shaped rice. We had bubble tea, edamame, shumai, beef rendang (very spicy!), curry rice, and the Ayam Goreng Bali (deep fried chicken).

I would gladly go back to try even more of their wide selection of dishes.

Went here on a whim craving Asian food, and they did not dissapoint! Large selection with Chinese and Japanese dishes, as well as Thai. Everything was cooked wonderfully, and the waitress was nice and quick! Good prices, too! Keep in mind that when they say spicy, they mean it lol

Cafe Bali is a hidden gem for anyone craving authentic Indonesian flavors! The food is delicious and true to its roots, with each dish bursting with rich, vibrant flavors. Prices are reasonable, making it a great value, especially with the decent portion sizes. Whether you’re familiar with Indonesian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Cafe Bali is a must-visit in Bloomington. Highly recommended!

Quant little restaurant with amazing authentic flavors. There is a variety of Asian flavors available from Indonesian, Japanese, to Korean dishes. Highly recommend and will definitely be back. There was a sign that said done in available after 1 or 2 pm, so be sure to check that out if updated for when you visit. We got takoyaki which was hot and fresh. The Beef Rendang which is an Indonesian curry was so tender with so much flavor and spices and finally the Chasu Ramen with Pork belly was not lacking in ramen that’s for sure with a very tasty broth and tender pork belly. Definitely support this local restaurant when in town!

Nice quaint atmosphere, gyoza was pretty okay but was a bit underwhelmed by some of these recommended items people shared: beef ramen seemed to be lacking much vegetable in it. Meat was nice and tender but lacked flavor.

The chicken rendaang: nice flavor but chicken quality was subpar.

All in all the best part was the garlic soy that came with the gyoza.
Unfortunately, Me and my partner are still struggling with an upset stomach from the food

Wait service: there was one girl working and when I say, sis was not happy to be at work; you could cut the tension with a machete. No hello and stomping around like she was forced to be there.

Great value. Portions of big and everything I had was well crafted. Service was friendly, attentive, and fast. This business has a very robust take out service, I think I saw 5+ meals go out in the short time I was there
