This restaurant is intimate and full of character. More restaurants like this used to exist, and are slowly fading out, so I was glad to be back in this environment and feel comforted by all the small touches and home-like vibes.
We ordered the birria de chivo and it was full of flavor. The portion size was generous and very filling, and it was also affordably priced! The tortillas a mano made it even better.
The servers were kind and attentive, and seemed to truly care about the customers.
We ordered burrito to go to bring to Yosemite and many visitors at the park stopped to ask where we got it because it looked so good, so it’s also a great place to stop and order to go if you don’t have time to sit down!

We were visiting the Rodin Farms and stopped here for lunch. We were pleasantly surprised with the food. It was delicious. For vegetarians, I would highly recommend the veggie burrito. All ingredients were fresh and flavorful. They had other options such as tacos and enchiladas as well. The jamaica refresher was satisfying in the hot weather and not too sweet. Their flan was out of the world! We went home satisfied.

First time and won’t be the last visit. The food was great. We came for breakfast and from the café de olla to the chilaquiles, everything was very flavourful. We tried the green and red chilaquiles. We also had their machaca. It was worth the 25 minute drive to try this place.

Super cool place! The Quesabirria and Al Pastor with creamy green salsa were delicious! I love the counter service but also booths and a backroom of tables.

Wow!! Absolutely amazing!! The best Mexican restaurant I’ve had since moving up here last year. The carnitas were fire and my trio plate was perfect! Honestly, this place is the closest Mexican food to Southern California where I am from. Thank you so much for the great food and the great company. We will be returning!

I ordered a Caldo de res (Beef soup) to go. It comes with fresh handmade corn tortillas (3) a small container that has half Rice and half cilantro/onion. I didn’t expect the rice to be accompanied with the side veggies nonetheless the rice and Soup was delicious!

I was looking for some breakfast in the area of Riverbank. I was craving a breakfast burrito and I googled and was led to El Jacalitio. My 1st experience was a lasting one and definitely won’t be the last. I had a chorizo breakfast burrito which was great. I have since been back on numerous occasions with my family. This is by far the best Mexican food not only in Riverbank but in the surrounding Modesto area. Don’t take my word for it, go visit and experience delicious authentic Mexican food, great service, and a great place to eat. Great job
