We just had an absolute brilliant meal at Limbo… perfect night…
Snowy Montreal…. Cozy dim lit restaurant…
The service was immaculate… very attentive, when reading the menu to us, they painted a description of each dish…
We ended up ordering 6 plates… annnnnnd…
Tough to pick a favourite because not a single dish was a miss, but the beef tongue was the standout for us… bananas.. so good.

We will definitely return with anticipation…

Extremely STRONG 5 ⭐️ recommendation!
Everything about our dinner was great:
– service: the welcoming and the service all along the dinner was present, caring, efficient
– food: excellent. We tried the chef’s menu: an interesting mix of techniques, selected ingredients, creativity, balanced flavors and textures
– atmosphere: nice decor, modern design, comfortable seating
Last but not least: fair prices for the quality served.

2 feedbacks for the kitchen: (1) we couldn’t taste the truffle in the cheese, (2) the potato does not pair well with the fish (I’d have preferred mashed or grilled vegetables)

Excellent time dining at Limbo this past Sunday. The restaurant is gorgeous and the food is fantastic. While we were there it relatively quiet, which just enhanced our experience. Noted to go out to restaurants on Sundays more often! Our favourite things we had were the squash soup with an oursin sauce ontop, as well as the duck dish which had perfectly cooked duck slices and a duck crepe with orange. It’s hard to pick an favourite though because everything was super inventive, fun to eat, and high quality. John and Jack were extremely kind and professional and explained the various dishes, made great recommendations and provided excellent service. Thank you!

Attention to detail and service was too notch. Very nice atmosphere. Chairs could be upgraded.
Food was good but no wow effect. I would still recommend if you plan to be in the area and get a spot.

The place is a vibe – Good spot for a date or friends night out.
Food is good but uneven – some dishes are a bit of a question mark, others are out of this planet. Any fish plate including the lobster is a home run.

Great place. Very warmly designed space that feels cozy. Food is amazing! Former chefs from various spaces like maison publique (RIP) and salle climatisee. How can you go wrong with that lineup?

absolutely stunning space and atmosphere. perfectly warm and intimate booths and a gorgeous stainless steel bar, perfect for date night. the menu is a mix of classics with surprising twists and everything was beautifully executed. the beef tongue was one of the best cooked pieces of meat i’ve ever had in my life. run don’t walk.

Absolutely amazing dishes with locally sourced and fresh products thoughtfully curated by chef Harrison. The service, the wine, the food, the place, we loved everything. This restaurant is the next big thing in Montreal. We’ll be back very soon.

Replacing Marconi with a refreshed dining room , limbo offers a solid but lacklustre experience.
Food was good. Some dishes being very tasty and interesting and some being ok ( but not bad! )
Service was adequate but could be friendlier for sure ( people next to us though the same thing)
Unimpressive cocktails could definetly be improved.
Overall a good experience and will come back in couple months when they settle a bit more with everything

Had the pleasure of dining at Limbo during its very first week—there was a palpable sense of nervous energy and excitement.

1) We started with the beef tartare, topped with trout roe, surrounded by a ring of gelée. We also ordered the house-made sourdough bread and beurre composé: perfectly chewy and flavourful.

2) This was followed by a reinterpretation of poireaux vinaigrette, with leeks layered over perfectly cooked trout confit.

3) Next came the off-menu special: house-cured ham topped with mustard greens, peppery and perfectly dressed just enough to balance the richness of the pork.

3) Then a clean, elegant plate of halibut served with seasonal white asparagus and a light, buttery sauce.

4) For dessert, a showstopper: a meringue “floating island” in a pool of tonka bean–infused crème anglaise, topped with fragrant poached rhubarb.

Overall, 10/10 for a first week, and we are excited to go back.
