My husband and I celebrated our one year anniversary last night at 222 Chophouse. It was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent. I got the duck and my husband got the lamb. Both we’re tender, full of flavor and the sides were also delicious. My husband said the collards were the only collards he’s ever eaten as is meaning he didn’t have to dip them in some sort of sauce, they were that good. The front of house was very kind and our waitress Miriam was attentive, friendly and made some excellent recommendations for us. She made our first experience at 222 perfect for our anniversary, and of course the delicious food.

Omg! If i could give this place 10 star i would. This place is one of my favorites place to eat now because the food is delicious and the desert caramel apple walnut pie and Italian rum cake are really good. Our waitress ashley she overall she did a wonderful job and sweet girl. Definitely will come back and tell my family and friends to come here.

We went to 222 chophouse the weekend after Valentine’s Day so it was very busy. We had late dinner time reservations and walked in a few minutes prior to our reservation time. It took about 10 minutes after we walked in to be acknowledged by any of the staff (all the waiters and hostess were assisting others). A quick “we will be right with you” would’ve gone a long way. Everything was wonderful once we were seated. Blaire was our server and very attentive. We enjoyed the food. The steak was cooked perfectly (the ribeye was thin for my taste which made the perfect medium rare even more impressive). The wine list had a great variety and we enjoyed a bottle of cor vina from Italy with our meal.

We had an overall good experience at this restaurant. There was a warm open room with a beautiful fireplace and high ceilings. The dark decor and lighting set a great vibe. I would have given 5 stars for atmosphere except that there seems to be a ventilation issue in the restaurant as it became very smokey and hazy and stayed that way during our meal. Our server was very friendly and attentive and I would have given 5 stars for service except our used dishes and glasses stayed on the table way too long and that created a slightly less enjoyable experience. 3/4 of us loved our dinners. Again, would have given 5 stars if the pasta with mushrooms special had been better. The oyster mushrooms were undercooked and the pasta was basically fettuccini in butter. Our party did enjoy the coconut crusted chicken with curry orzo special along with a perfectly cooked filet and the oysters Rockefeller were a hit. The cocktails were excellent and the wine list had enough by the glass options for our group to be satisfied. We would be back again because this place is a much needed addition to the Kinston restaurant line up. Reasonably priced and a nice evening out overall!

Atmosphere is great. I really love what they’ve done with the decor. The food… not so much. They need to get better guys to run the broilers. Filets were all overcooked, and the plating is a little more wonky than you would expect at the price point. Antipasto was just… not it. Table light was nice. Service was ok. I hope my next visit changes my mind.

Elizabeth was our server. She has fantastic. The food was very,very good. 10 stars. I had oysters, a small Caesar salad, and a small filet mignon.My husband had the crab dip,and a 12 oz rib eye. We both splurged and had dessert.

222 chophouse never disappoints! I ordered the prime rib egg rolls and they were absolutely incredible! They were crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Easily one of the best appetizers I’ve had in Kinston as a Kinston native!

My wife and I enjoyed dinner at 222 Chop House on Friday before Valentines Day. Our first time. The food was excellent. We had the prime rib and lamb chops. We also had the prime rib egg rolls, a definite must. The service was exceptional. Our waitress was Blair. She was a 10plus. Always attentive and exactly what you’re looking for in an establishment of this type. Whether just enjoying a nice evening out or a special occasion, I highly recommend.
