Wow! Amazing BBQ choices. Smoke OTW came to our lakeside community on a Sunday afternoon (June/2022) offering Prime Black Angus Brisket on Texas toast, cherry smoked spare ribs, and steak fajitas on homemade tortillas. Could not decide so we ordered one of each, went back home and divided them on our deck dining table. Delicious and wanted more. Expectations were “smoked” on the water! Continued…
Today (August 2022) we ventured over to Marina Shores (Portage) to snag some more of their amazing BBQ! Did I say “Wow!” in my first recommendation? I can tell you that if you don’t add them, “SmokeOTW” to your bucket list, then you will cheat yourself of the Best! Wagyu brisket. Come on, Wagyu brisket out of this world. Pulled pork (Berkshire Farms) on Texas toast- bucket list now more than satisfied. Unfortunately summer is winding down., but I’ll stand in line in the cold November rains and snow if they still come out to serve their loyal fans.

I reached out to smoke on the water for an event of a 120 people with about a week’s notice and their team was able to make it happen The pulled pork and pulled chicken sandwiches as well as the tacos were amazing! The portions were great the food truck was in great shape and was making the whole town hungry from that great smoke! Grade A team. Thanks for everything!

Biggest rip off ever! $10 for a brisket taco,one slice of brisket the thickness of a piece of bacon on a small tortilla with 6 randomly cut onions. This was at the Porter county fair.

We had a brisket sandwich and a pulled pork sandwich on Labor Day weekend – both were excellent! As a Texan, I have high standards for bbq and this did not disappoint! This is a great place to stop for lunch when visiting the dunes!

The staff was very friendly. The complaint we all
had was how dry the meat was.
The pulled chicken, chicken nachos and chicken quesadillas was very dry. We had to order extra cheese just to keep from gagging on the dry chicken. We are quite disappointed how much everything cost for the lousy food. We won’t ever be coming back to this place for food but for the view we will be back.

The smoker welcomes you with the sights and smells of freshly smoked meats. The staff is friendly and the meals are delicious. Yes – alcoholic beverages are available. It is conveniently and gorgeously located in the Indiana Dunes National Park pavilion at the Portage Lakefront and Riverwalk.

This is very misleading there is no food truck here regardless of what the website says you can buy nachos or a hot dog at the concession so if you’re excited to have some smoked barbecue you’ll be extremely disappointed if you go out of your way like we did
