We arrived for lunch at 11:30 and we’re seated immediately, has drinks and orders placed within minutes. Food arrived in a reasonable time and we left by 12:15 when the crowds started coming in. Prices were decent for the portion size which were okay. Food was quality was great. Service from Tyler was excellent. We plan to return to eat at the sushi bar and return another time for the large sushi boat.

Had to make another trip to Show Low. And, what’s a girl to do when errands are finished? Why…eat lunch, of course!

Made another visit to Neko Asian Fusion. Wonderful experience.

Starting off with a nice cup of warm green tea, along with an appetizer of harumaki (shrimp spring roll). Oh! These are wonderful spring rolls! Very slightly spicy sauce but mainly sweet, with nice crunch through the wrapper crust. Flavorful and meaty.

Meal was the Ika (squid sushi). Slightly chewy squid, the knife slices through it by the chef made it easier to bite through and chew. Don’t know if it’s proper to do so, but I took two or three bites of each one. That way I could taste and savor it. Mush it around in my mouth (keeping my mouth covered so as to not gross out anyone by eating with my mouth open!).

The squid doesn’t really have much flavor but a great mouth feel, and knowing it is squid just makes it mentally taste better!!

The sticky rice cakes it is served on also add to the great dining experience.

Along with the Ika, I had the Red Dragon Roll. Spicy tuna, avocado, topped with sliced tuna, tobiko (flying fish roe), and a bit of sriracha.

This dish has a very slight ‘bite’ to it but nothing a 3 year old baby couldn’t handle. The sesame seeds interspersed in the sticky rice surrounding the tuna and avocado, add to the chew. Oh!! And let’s not forget that delicious tobiko! I made sure to pick up any of the grains that fell off when I bit into them. A slight “grainy” (for lack of a better description) feeling in the mouth when chewing…chewing slooooowwwwllllyyy and savoring each biteful.

I was smiling through the whole meal, sipping on the nice green tea, taking occasional bites of the ginger slices to cleanse my palate for the next bite.

Hey folks, if you get out to Pin Eh Top (as my phone’s GPS says it), stop in and try some of this delicious food. Food? Heck with that! This is nourishment for the soul. Remember to take your time, breathe in, enjoy each bite, and…smile knowing you’re feeding more than just your tummy!

Exceeded our expectations – but just keep in mind they are still working through a few bumps… they just opened wiring the last couple of weeks.
Walking in, aside from the cool decor and vibe, were the cloud panels in the ceiling lights. Super cool – I’ve never seen that before.
Service was good. Sheila was really helpful and confirmed that we’d made some great selections. She kept an eye on us and frequently returned to see if we needed anything else. Great attitude and asset to this crew!

We went full on sushi. While we realize we aren’t on an ocean we always reset our expectations accordingly – but – from the hamachi (super tender, fresh and generous) to our rolls – I was super pleased. The New York roll, with the crispy salmon skin, is a recommendation. I haven’t seen this on a menu in quite a while and the chef served a great one. We also had the Neko and a spicy tuna that we fantastic.
I have to mention the cocktail menu – holy cow – seriously… you will be pleased if you like a wide variety.

My husband and I ate here for the first time. This restaurant is only about 3 weeks into operation. We enjoyed the beautiful Asian-feel ambience. Despite the pouring rain outside the luncheon customers quickly filled up 3/4 of the dining room.

Our server was warm and friendly. He helped us choose two excellent meals. My husband enjoyed his hibachi steak which came with grilled vegetables, fried rice, yummy sauce, and a salad with a delicious, creamy ginger dressing. I had the hibachi salmon. Both choices provided around 4.5 oz of steak or salmon. We also ordered a California roll. Because I don’t do dairy and it had cream cheese in it they substituted another ingredient instead of the dairy. Much appreciated.

The whole staff was very friendly as I walked around and took photos. The two sushi chefs hammed it up, giving me a thumbs up and beaming smiles. I think fun personality in restaurant staff is terrific.

We had an excellent experience dining there and will certainly go back. Their menu has plenty of sushi options as well as hibachi and other cooked food options. For the vegetarians and vegans reading this, the hibachi choices also included a mixed vegetable option. Just make sure to get the fried rice without egg and ask what’s in the yummy sauce if you are pure vegan. I think it may have mayonnaise which has egg.

I wish this new establishment a long and prosperous existence, pleasing the hearts and palates of every customer walking through their doors. (Note: any information or photos related to Mexican food are from the former restaurant and do not apply to NEKO.)

This place only recently opened in mid to late August and they’re already one of my top places to eat or meet up with friends over a meal on the mountain! Today I had their dedek special roll (a special of the day) which had shrimp tempura, tamago (egg), and avocado inside topped with spicy tuna, unagi (eel), and avocado and it was such a filling roll! My friend got the same along with a yellowtail roll and they brought it out on a boat, which was lovely! I personally like more specialty/creative rolls over the regular rolls. I’ve had their salmon hibachi dinner plate (which comes with a salad and miso soup) a separate time and I loved the portion they give. I’ve also tried their ramen, which was also tasty! I love the variety of options they have and would recommend to get my Japanese food fix. The service was also excellent (shout out to the Balinese guys and those behind the sushi bar).

All the reviews still showing appear to be for the former occupant of this space, a New Mexican style restaurant. Neko’s is Asian Fusion. I’ve been three times in the last week and both the food and service has gotten successively better each time. It was great from the start! Fresh, delicious, reasonable prices, and good portions. So glad to finally have a REALLY GOOD Asian/Sushi place on the mountain!

Everything was amazing at Neko’s!! Went with a fried for lunch! Had the 13.00 sushi bar lunch special and he had the hibachi sirloin special. Both came with a salad with house made ginger dressing that was to die for! Eaten here a couple times and it is just amazing. Staff is friendly and on top of things. Highly recommend!!!!

Welcome sophistication added to the mountain. Ive been here several times and, once they got past the opening jitters, the food and service has always been excellent, sushi very fresh, entrees well appointed, and Ramen worth trying over and again.

These guys have been open for a while so my wife and I decided to try them out. We went there primarily for sushi. We ordered calamari for an appetizer and asked the waiter which of their specialty rolls were most popular. He pointed us to the crunchy roll, the Neko roll, and the Show Low roll. Well first off the calamari was a disaster. All the breading fell off before they even brought it out to us. We just ended up eating somewhat slimy calamari rings and leftover crunchy batter. So the calamari was a bust. Next they brought out an order or salmon nigiri and yellowtail nigiri. The fish was somewhat warm and wasn’t overly great. You can tell the fish isn’t real high quality. Very little taste. Man how I was hoping for that nice buttery salmon nigiri. It was ok at best. Next we went to the rolls…well presented but very little taste. We were impressed by exactly zero of them. If these were the best rolls I’d hate to see the mediocre ones. Zero taste and we literally did not enjoy them at all. Very disappointing. We have eaten sushi all over the US and abroad and can tell you if you want absolutely mediocre sushi with little to no taste…this is your place. Unfortunately over $100 and left disappointed. We won’t be back unless something changes. Sorry White Mountain folks at least from the sushi side this was a bust!
