This ravishing, lovely cafe has such a welcoming atmosphere and had cozy seats too! I ordered a pumpkin chai latte and it’s scrumptious! When you have the chance make a stop here, you won’t regret it!

Super cute and chill vibe. Kind of small, not a lot of seating, but what seating they do have is very comfortable. The pastry cabinet is fresh and the coffee is very smooth. The decorations are the selling point. Very creative, very nice, beautiful view of the lake, and the 1930s music play in the background says it over the top.

One Sip Away from Five

This coffee shop looks like Indiana Jones should come bursting through the door clutching an ancient artifact. The decor is incredible—ingenious, detailed, and clearly thought out. It genuinely feels like you’re drinking coffee on a Raiders of the Lost Ark movie set, minus the rolling boulder (though that might improve the line situation).

The coffee itself? Very good. Like, “worth the quest” good. Prices are also refreshingly reasonable in a world where a latte can cost as much as a small appliance. Major points for that.

Service was friendly and solid, but clearly understaffed. It took about 20 minutes to get our order, which is fine once you’re inside soaking up the atmosphere—but a little rough when you’re standing there pre-caffeine questioning your life choices.

One big opportunity for improvement: opening time. They don’t open until 8am on Sundays, and there is nowhere else within walking distance to get coffee. We weren’t alone either—about 10 people were lined up waiting like caffeine-deprived extras in an apocalypse movie. A slightly earlier opening would be a game changer.

All that said, the vibe is fantastic, the effort is obvious, and this place has real personality—which is rare and appreciated. Fix the staffing wait times and reconsider Saturday & Sunday hours, and this easily becomes a 5-star adventure. Until then, I’ll happily give it four stars and return—hopefully with a fedora and a little more patience.

Great coffee and amazing decore! Ten percent off your order if you’re staying at Citrus Hotel, and $1 refills on black coffee.

Great coffee, flavors were authentic didn’t taste artificial. Their seasonal menu has awesome choices, will definitely go back.
Price of coffee was similar to any other coffee shop but the quality 100% match the price.

Of all the coffee shops I have been to, this one is very unique and located right in downtown Tavares on Lake Dora. One of my favorite stories is 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and when I walked in here, I fully expected to see Jules Verne and Captain Nemo having coffee!

There are many options to choose from in terms of coffee: cold, hot, iced, frappe, etc… There are also some pastry items as well that you can buy such as muffins, cake pops, Danish’s, etc… For the muffins and Danish (these I have tried) they are pretty decent but nothing that stood out greatly to me. If you are looking for something to have with your coffee, they will do.

The coffee and frappes are good, very tasty and they provide plenty of choices with their iced and frappe drinks to choose from and various sizes to choose from.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars for this review is due to the price of items. I work right near this shop and when I went here with a couple of co-workers, we ended up paying roughly $14.00 to get a frappe drink (large) and a Danish. We were not expecting to pay that much. They do have a menu; however, I am not a fan of any establishment who does not post the prices on their wall menus/menu boards. It is a little easier to post pricing on the wall / board menus for all to see instead of a few laminated menus at the register. Not a huge deal, just something to notate. Lesson learned about what to get and just visit as a treat once in a while.

Overall, this is a great place to visit at least once, and I believe that there is something for everyone for a treat. Outside sitting that looks out onto Lake Dora to sit and relax, especially if you are staying at one of the hotels located right there. Staff is super friendly and pretty quick with orders.

I really want to love this place. But something about the seating and the set up of the whole place is just not very inviting. I would love a cozy nook to sit and talk. But the seating here is kinda weird and not conducive to that. Also the seating is very limited. The area where they take your order is also a bit strange, it looks temporary, like a little food cart. It doesn’t really fit with the rest of the place. The coffee here is good but I’ve yet to try anything that really stood out, and I think it’s a bit overpriced. My biggest complaint is the service. I’ve been served by the same girl behind the counter on several of my visits and her less than charming demeanor has definitely stood out. While she’s never been rude, she’s definitely not very welcoming and just seems annoyed to have to be speaking with you. On our last visit my husband and I both noticed her behavior. We quickly got our coffee and left. This was disappointing. We spent nearly $20 on 2 coffees and a muffin and we didn’t even feel like we could sit down for a few minutes to enjoy them. I really hope this place is able to make some improvements to their location as well as to the people who work there.

So glad I decided to look around for a coffee shop instead of stopping at a fast food spot.
Firstly, the atmosphere is absolutely it. The nautical theme with muted 1920/30s era pop is fantastic. Wonderful to either sit for a moment and enjoy your coffee or to stay a while and read or study.
The service is also fast, and friendly. My barista showed me their regular and seasonal options and helped select a perfect flavor for today.
And lastly the pastries and coffee hit. I needed something for a quick travel breakfast and not only were the pastries good (i had a cheese danish) but the latte (even flavored) has a good distinct espresso taste. Much better than chains that over sweeten their espressos.
Wonderful location lakeside as well!

This has to be one of the best coffee shops I’ve ever been to. Absolutely loved the Nautilus theme, it’s dark and comfortable.

I heard about the shop from a friend and decided to bring two of my friends with me. We all loved it and will be back regularly in our travels through Tavares. The coffee prices are perfect.

Cozy, thematic ambience meets delicious coffees and sodas! This outstanding little coffee shop serves a wide variety of flavorful options in a retro maritime setting with all the details of one of those fancy Orlando theme parks. The atmosphere of this coffee shop is top notch! I especially enjoyed the ’30s era music loop playing in the background as we sipped our coffees and took in the sights. Definitely a must-do experience!
