Our usual go-to Chinese restaurant is closed for a month, so this was our first time ordering from here. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing.
I ordered the pepper steak with fried rice. The meat had a strange smell right away, and unfortunately, the taste matched—it was not good at all.
We also ordered the boneless spare ribs with shrimp fried rice. The dish was very bland and had an artificial taste.
The egg roll also had a strong, unusual smell and tasted different than expected.
Overall, we were very disappointed with the quality of the food.

Golden Star Chinese Restaurant is a consistently great takeout spot. After a fire about a year and a half ago, they came back strong. Family-operated, very friendly, and they continue to serve excellent Chinese food every time.

This place is the worst ever. Horrible taste and wasn’t even made correctly! They literally gave me 5 shreds of beef and a pound of chopped mushrooms, That’s not Mongolian beef! The taste was pure salt and the accompanying pork fried rice had no pork in it???? Very Dissatisfied for a first order…..I will never return with this level of failure…..

Love their food, by far the best Chinese food in the area. Great dumplings, soups, fried rice, mains, all are delicious, hot & fresh. Hope they are open again SOON!!

Normally when I order from here there are no issues and the food is great. But not tonight it tasted terrible. It was so spicy we couldn’t even eat it and instead of egg rolls they gave two spring rolls that I don’t like. The driver demanded I put a tip on the receipt even though they got a $4 delivery fee.

Some of the best Chinese food around, great price on lunch specials which is usually what I order. I order online through ChineseMenu (yep that’s really the website), it’s always ready within the 10 to 15 minutes it takes me to arrive, and the food is still perfectly steaming hot when I get back, whatever ancient Chinese proverb they use works. Just the right amount of salty and greasy for me personally, a sinful meal surely but it’s far from bland and not “sick after 3 bites” overpowering either. Egg drop soup, pork fried rice, and a beef dish would be my recommendations. Bro at the register is really nice but always busy working so I don’t make small talk. Their food is still consistently good. We have tried some different dishes and they are all good but we keep going back to the shrimp with mixed veggies as our favourite. We have discovered that they have a very unique Crab Rangoon. It’s not crispy like most places but it sure is good. Their egg rolls are consistently good.
They have the best fried chicken wings around! That is over and above anywhere nearby, not just Asian restaurants.
The food is consistent and yummy. We have had the shrimp with mixed veggies many times. The broccoli is always nice and crisp which is always a sure sign that they don’t over cook or over sauce the nicely textured vegetables.
