My wife and I visited Awaken Bakery on our date day. While I don’t drink coffee, my wife is a coffee connoisseur. Happy to report she fully endorsed the coffee! We also tried the cinnamon roll, churro doughnuts, brownie (later that night), and the turkey sausage biscuit. Neither of us typically eat gluten free food. We just enjoy great food, and all of it way very tasty!

Aubrie was so incredibly kind and helpful to my husband and I so we visited for the first time last week! We made the mini road trip up from east of Nashville TN especially to visit! Every single thing we got was the best gluten free thing I’d ever tried ! & the price SHOCKED me with how affordable it was! We got 10 items for only $40!!!???!!! I was expecting at least $70! WThe biggest stand outs were the Cinnamon Rolls (I got the regular and my husband got the df/ef), cheese danish (the single best gluten free bite of my life) and the breakfast biscuits! Absolutely delicious and we cannot wait to return soon (currently trying to convince my husband we should go back today haha)

Cute little bakery and all GF! But you’d never know it was GF if you didn’t know! We’ve had our share of experience with gluten free products and my husband and I, 100% agree, these people do it far and beyond better than any other!
While we wish it wasn’t a 45 minute drive for us to get there, it might be best for us because we’d probably be there a couple (or more times a week!)
Audrey and the other young lady (didn’t catch her name) were very sweet and helpful.
It’s a tiny place but we saw how popular their take-out is while we were there. (Ongoing pickups)
We’ll definitely be making the drive again soon!
Note: We had the Chicken Salad sandwich (So good!), Chicken club sandwich ((my husband said he really liked it), Chocolate chip scone (yum!!) and the maple glazed mini donut (double yum!!)
There are so many more very tempting choices too. Go! And take a few friends!!
Got a photo of one of the scones (bought a couple), but nothing else lasted long enough to get in front of the camera.

I can’t say enough good things about this bakery! My sister is gluten-free, and it’s always a challenge to find a place on the spot where she can truly enjoy the food. We were visiting Bowling Green for the day from Nashville and stumbled across this gem—it absolutely made our trip.
The vibes of the place were warm and welcoming, and the staff could not have been kinder. We tried the toasties, and honestly, the gluten-free bread was some of the best I’ve ever had (and I’m not even gluten-free!). The brownie and cinnamon bun were also incredible—soft, flavorful, and not overly sweet.
What made it even better is that everything was very reasonably priced. So many places hike up prices for gluten-free items, but here it felt fair and accessible without sacrificing quality.
Highly recommend this spot whether you’re gluten-free or not—you won’t be disappointed!

I drove all the way from Nashville just to buy from this bakery. Everything I have tried from here has been amazing. I had my first cinnamon roll in three years, and it was so good! Their cupcakes are also the best gluten free cupcakes I have ever had.

My husband and I can down from Michigan for our honeymoon to tour caves and have a blast. I didn’t think I would find a GLUTEN-FREE & DAIRY-FREE café and we drove one hour to Awaken. Not only was the owner and staff amazing, knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly…this is hands down the tastiest, most flavorful, and moist baked items ever. I have been to numerous gluten-free and dairy-free bakeries and I would drive from Michigan (9-10 hours) to come to Awaken again!
I got a (all vegan too) sandwich, two maple cupcakes (OMG AMAZING), a vanilla scone, chicken salad, mac & cheese, a cinnamon roll, a vanilla lemon cake, and a hot chocolate with peppermint flavor.
To add, I am terrified to eat out due to my food allergies, I am also low fodmap stage one, and I did NOT get sick after eating anything from here.
Thank you all for creating this bakery!

I was so excited to see a GF bakery in the area. This was our first time visiting. The food and coffee were delicious. When we walked in no one spoke to us, no greeting or can we help that was a little odd I thought. We were the only people in there but we didn’t feel welcomed to stay and left shortly after getting our food. They are a little pricey but it’s quality GF food and the GF community knows that’s hard to find, so I felt like the prices were reasonable for the quality you get. My family is in the restaurant business as well and I think they would benefit by having a more welcoming environment (super cute inside though). With all that being said I don’t go out to eat to make friends so over all I’d say this place is great. Also in my opinion the coffee may be the best we’ve had in BG, the young guy who made our coffees did an excellent job. We will definitely keep coming.

I love this place as I am gluten-free due to an allergy, and they have a fantastic selection of food that is ALWAYS GLUTEN-FREE!! I love getting the sausage biscuit (it’s to die for, legit 10/10 always)! I also love their toasties, especially the three-cheese one! Overall, I’ve never gotten sick here, and it’s excellent food beyond being gluten-free (it’s just good food that happens to be gluten-free). I even met the owner once, and he was so kind. I’m not from Bowling Green, but whenever I visit, you will catch me here almost every day of my stay. I just can’t find anything like this from where I’m from. Overall, I highly recommend it!

I always like a good latte and a lot of BG places use their over sweetness to cover bad beans, this place is the gem I never knew I needed in my life. Their bonbon latte (breve by my choice) was absolutely delicious. A got a few pastries that were on display and also delicious! My brother is a bit of a coffee snob as well, so I took him a latte (honey, vanilla, and cinnamon dust) and he said he’d be going this weekend to get one again.
They also have a lot of options for goodies as well as different options at the front for take home and bake/proteins/etc. I had great service, the kid was very nice and matched my level of chat. I will most definitely be back! I would even say it is some of the best coffee in town.

Awaken Bakery is the BEST Gluten Free bakery we have experienced! Seriously!!!!!
We stopped into the bakery without high expectations due to past experiences. We were on a six week roadtrip and headed on our way home back to Texas. This was the best stop we made. Trying not to over-eat, we shared the grilled turkey sandwich with sundried tomatoes and bacon. My husband got Pumpkin Spice Cake and I got the Cinnamon Roll. Everything was exceptional and neither one of us could find anything we would change about anything.
We were so impressed we went to the freezer section and got hamburger buns, bagels, biscuits, yeast rolls and a chocolate chip cream cookie to take with us. We ate the bagels on the way home which were also wonderful and larger than expected. The hamburger buns are so soft and squishy – only two left by the time we reached Texas. The cookie was our snack when we both needed a pick-me-up while driving. Mmmmmm!
Can’t wait to try the remaining biscuts and yeast rolls. The only other things that made it to Texas 🙂
KEEP DOING WHAT YOUR DOING Awaken Bakery! Feel free to open one here in Arlington TX. We’ll be there at least three times a week!!!!
