Houston’s Burger Review Series is BACK! Boo’s Burgers … – Instagram
Reviews
Stopped by Boo Burgers on Saturday around 4pm. Not packed at all, with plenty of free parking on the side. They play good oldies music outside, which sets a fun, relaxed vibe. There are outdoor tables for eating, making it a nice spot to hang out.
The setup is unique — a storage container turned into a mini restaurant, with restrooms in nearby containers as well. Ordered the OG burger ($12). Making it a combo was an extra $5, which wasn’t bad. The burger and fries were good, though the price feels a bit on the higher side. Still, it’s a solid spot and a great option for a casual date night. Would come back.
Tip:
Grab an outdoor table and enjoy the music — it adds to the experience.
Good vibes, good burgers, no fuss.
We came on a Sunday and had the special chicken sammich and the OG Burger double patty. The flavor profile on both of these goes crazy! The challah bun with the quality of beef..c’mon! and the chicken sammich is unique, specially if you like a kick of spice. The fries..if you like em thick n crispy..boo’s burgers is where it’s at.
The service was amazing from the cashier at the window to the owner coming and checking on us. To receive a 10/10 burger and service is rare. DO NOT SLEEP ON THEM!
They are officially a Houston staple on my list and you should try them out too. Nothing better than to support a local Houstonian owned business. Excited to try Boo’s Fish Fillet on a Friday!
I ordered the Shroom Sammie, and it was unforgettable. The marinated oyster mushrooms are fried to crispy, juicy perfection and stacked generously — not scattered, not skimpy — stacked. They’re layered with lemon pepper wet sauce, garlic aioli, pickles, and a cabbage-mustard green slaw that adds just the right brightness and balance. The challah bun is soft, slightly sweet, and perfectly built to hold every flavorful bite together.
This is not an afterthought vegetarian option — it’s a standout sandwich that holds its own alongside the Boo’s OG Smash Burger.
I got the combo with seasoned fries and a Jarritos, and everything came out hot and fresh. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. The atmosphere sealed it — old school R&B playing, relaxed energy, and a casual setting that makes you want to sit back and savor it.
Whether you’re looking for: • one of the best sandwiches in Houston
• a satisfying vegetarian burger alternative
• or a Black-owned restaurant worth supporting
Boo’s Burgers delivers.
Make the drive. Add it to your rotation. And if you go, order the Shroom Sammie.
I’ll definitely be back.
Two patties are MORE THAN ENOUGH. You will leave full and satisfied. I’ll be dreaming about this burger tonight.
Disclaimer: the burger was $20 alone. However do not let it deter you to something of lesser quality. It is completely worth it.
On top of that, I paid $1 for extra sauce, and the container was barely a quarter full, which was really disappointing. I’m willing to pay for good food, but between the small portions and being cheap with something I paid extra for, it felt like I got ripped off.
Was the burger good? Yes.
Was it good for that price? No.
Would I come back? Possibly, but it wouldn’t be my first choice unless I was really craving it.
