A little South Portland gem! We came in as a group of eight, even mix of adults and kids, and were able to grab two tables right away. We received excellent service throughout our meal. You order at the front desk and I expected to pick it up there but the kind gentleman brought everything out to us, refilled our chips basket and took additional drink orders. The food was outstanding all around. Highlights were the chimichanga, tacos with fried green tomatoes and the breakfast burrito. Absolutely will come back next time we’re in Portland.

First time here and was not disappointed. The staff is very sweet. Seemed like the owner was working the ordering station and he took lots of pride in their offerings!
We had the special and carnitas tacos – totally authentic and the best carnitas I’ve had!
Highly recommend.

Amazing food and so quaint!
The barbacoa was tender, incredibly flavorful and the meal was more than filling.
Burn tip pork belly tacos were the best Mexican food I’ve had all year. Owner is so tremendously nice and helpful.
Perfect Mexican food in Portland!

We both really enjoy it here whether getting takeout, dining inside, or out in the backyard. We’ve been here several times, and one of my favorites is the california burrito with an order of in-house made jalapeno poppers. The wife is a fan of the pollo en mole, and it is an outstanding plate of goodness. That sonorran hotdog is also on another level of yum. Thank you Joe, family, and crew for this dining gem!

My girlfriend and I love this place… home.. you feel like you are in someone’s home. The food is fresh made in the kitchen, everything on the menu is wonderful. We are partial to the tacos dorados, enchilads and the tamales. Today we had the taco dorados and the suisa enchiladas.
We have sat inside but prefer to sit outside under the giant oak that shades all the tables outside. On the deck out back is a quaint table for 2, we sat there today. Family owned family operated family feel.
Please come I’m positive you will enjoy the whole experience.

The meat in the carne asada tacos was awful. Either small, dry charred bits or fatty blobs. Most of the taco wound up spit out in my napkin. And 12 chips for $6 chips & salsa was a sad portion. I won’t be back.

We went to this place because of the good reviews. We got the hot dog since there was a post about it and to be honest it was the best plate from here. However, the tacos were not that good I ordered tacos al pastor and they were kind of dried and didn’t have a lot of taste. It had small pieces of pineapple but I believe a little more of it would be great. Overall the service was great and the atmosphere as well. It is a small restaurant and very organized. Also, it has a “backyard” where there are some tables to eat. I would give a 5 star but the tacos were not good as I expected.

The mexican hot dogs are totally different than the ones in Arizona. The tamal was amazing and the floutas were well worth the trip.
