Overall had a mixed feeling after dining at Ramie. Atmosphere is good and pretty chill. Food wise, egg custard is good and recommended. So does the coffee rub pork ribs. However the eggplant is a little overpriced and just so so. The tomato based sauce doesn’t go well with the grilled rainbow trout and kinda trash the whole dish.
Food service is really slow. Had to wait around 20-30mins after ordering to get the appetizer. And another 30-40mins for main dish to be served. The pandan green cocktail has a weird taste, more like a fail cough syrup. Maybe the other cocktails are good but I don’t know.
Good thing is they don’t charge those ridiculous “surcharge” that has been going around in restaurants in Seattle.

Really cute restaurant. The food is really tasty. I took 1 star away for a few reasons: 1. The wait time in between dishes is relatively long. We had a reservation at 6:45pm and we probably left at 8:45pm. The tasting menu itself has 4 courses but they are smaller portion so we finished them right away after they were served. Then it was almost just waiting. 2. The steak and fries dish is not balanced in terms of temperature. The steak is cold but the fries are hot. I wished the steak is also hot or at least warm. For the portion size it is a little bit pricy. It is really delicious though. But I do like the taste a lot and I will come back for the à la carte menu as I saw great reviews and larger portion size.

Ramie offers a modern take on Vietnamese cuisine that really stands out from the usual spots. As Vietnamese ourselves, we were extremely impressed by the quality of the ingredients, the craftsmanship behind the dishes, and the attentive service.

The bánh tiêu was a pleasant surprise—served with butter and packed with rich sesame flavor. The balut duck egg dish was creative and beautifully executed, while still keeping the traditional flavors intact. The garlic noodles were another highlight: freshly made in-house and cooked perfectly al dente. The chicken dish was also fantastic, super flavorful and paired nicely with grilled kale.

Overall, a really memorable dining experience. Ramie does a great job blending tradition with a modern approach, and it’s definitely a place we’d recommend checking out.

I had mixed feelings about Ramie.

On the food side, there were definite highlights. The Bánh Tiêu was great, and I really enjoyed the oysters on the half shell. The hot sauce was so good I actually bought some to bring home. The Mosaic Bò Tái Chanh was also solid. The Bò Né burger was just okay, and I’d probably skip the Sườn Heo Nướng next time. It was a bit too sweet for my taste, though the portion size was generous.

For how much food we ordered, I do wish we had been seated at a larger table. Everything was crammed onto a tiny two-person table, which made the dining experience feel cramped and a bit uncomfortable.

The ambiance itself is cute and inviting. I was really looking forward to booking the private space here for an engagement party, but unfortunately the communication was not great. It took a long time to get responses to follow-up questions, and the menu sent over for a quote didn’t include any pricing, which made it difficult to evaluate or move forward.

Overall, there are some strong dishes and the space has potential, but between the seating issues and the lack of clear communication for private events, the experience fell a bit short for me.

I had a fantastic experience here and will definitely be returning! Their Happy Hour runs from 5 PM – 8 PM, which is a generous window and perfect for sharing several plates over dinner.
The highlights of our meal:
Oysters: Incredibly fresh. The accompanying hot sauce was a standout and paired perfectly.
Beef Carpaccio: My absolute favorite! It was packed with flavor, and the grilled shallots added a wonderful depth to the dish.
Coffee Ribs: These were exceptionally tender and juicy—the meat literally fell off the bone like butter.
Banh Mi: This had such a unique, delicious ‘gourmet grilled cheese’ vibe.
Fruit Cup: A creative and refreshing way to end the meal. I loved the ingenuity behind this dessert!
The only miss for us was the Rice Rolls. While they weren’t bad, they lacked the punchy flavor found in all the other dishes we tried. Overall, a great spot with a creative menu and excellent value!

This upscale Vietnamese restaurant serves unique dishes featuring fresh, exotic ingredients. The space is beautiful and spacious with a great vibe perfect for hosting a private event. However, we encountered a major hiccup during our visit this evening.
We ordered six different dishes, one of which was the Hamachi. When the server brought it out, we noticed it looked different from what we expected. After checking the menu to confirm there was only one Hamachi dish listed, we began eating. It was the third or fourth plate to arrive. My daughter eventually checked photos posted by other diners and realized that what we were served looked nothing like the standard Hamachi dish.
When the server returned, we asked for clarification. He insisted it was Hamachi, but when we asked why it looked so different from the photos, he claimed we had ordered the “Hamachi collar bone,” which isn’t even on the menu.
This was shocking. How could we have ordered an off-menu item that was never mentioned to us? Furthermore, the Hamachi on the menu is quite popular, making his explanation even more confusing. I remained composed since we were there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday and had already finished the meal, but the experience started spiraling down.

In my experience, when an error like this occurs, a manager usually steps in to clear up the confusion, but that didn’t happen here. Instead, the server offered to take the dessert off the bill after taking his manager, which felt like an odd solution to the problem. Mistakes happen, but I still cannot wrap my head around how the server concluded I ordered a secret menu item during my very first visit.

– bread: Skip. Not worth it.
– duck eggs: Interesting enough to try at least once
– ribs: Pretty good. A bit salty
– half chicken: kale was excellent. Chicken was pretty flavorful as well
– rockfish: good. We all liked the dipping sauce
– hamachi collar bone: Skip it.
– dessert: pretty good and exotic flavor but small portion. Try it.

The best meal I’ve had in Seattle. Service was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They were very accommodating of gluten and dairy allergies and we were happy with our options and confident to eat. Meal was prepared, plated and served impeccably. We sampled an American A5 Wagyu that they had sourced and it was as good as advertised with rich marbling. The desserts were innovative and exciting. Cocktails were excellent as well. A great choice for a special occasion or just a good meal.

My husband and I had our Valentine’s Day dinner at Ramie. The whole experience was positive. I booked online and paid the total amount plus 22% tips in advance. It is non refundable. The dinner package came with appetizers, pho, main dishes and desserts. We made the main dish and dessert selections when we made the reservation. The decors in the restaurant were beautiful. The server seated us right away. The food was very delicious especially the appetizer and the lobster pho. But the main dishes were okay. The braised beef was a little over cooked, so the meat was too soft. The fish was too salty. It should have accompany with a bowl of rice. The dessert was also okay. The main problem with the service is about timing. The dining time was set up as 90 mins. We finished the main course within 60 mins, but the desserts didn’t come until the end of five minutes. The server originally asked us if we could finish the desserts within 10 mins, which was unreasonable in a high end restaurant. But after negotiations and arrangements, they extended our dining time. We appreciated the adjustments, but it could have arranged better if the desserts didn’t come so late.

Went with the family for brunch on Saturday and was absolutely blown away. The owner was professionally trained in France and it’s evident in her pastries. Best croissant I’ve ever had. The pate chaud, a French Vietnamese pork-filled puff pastry was HUGE, buttery, and all around delicious. Everything we ordered was phenomenally good: xoi man (savory sticky rice), the meatballs and eggs, the steak, eggs, pate and cheese sizzling platter, the corn cream pastry. This is not your typical Vietnamese restaurant with same ole pho, vermicelli bowls and banh mi. IT’S WAY BETTER.

Excellent meal! Cocktails were top notch, interesting, tasty, and clearly some thought in them. Sesame bread was really good and greatly enjoyed the rice rolls and eggplant. Pandan coconut cake was excellent! We’ll be coming back.
