My sister has been in town & we both love Thai food so we tried Thai Rod Dee in Layton. It’s been on my want to try list of a while now! We ordered the eggs rolls for an appetizer. I really liked these. They were cooked to perfection & the sauce was really good to dip them in as well. For my meal, I ordered the Pad Thai with mild/no spice with tofu. The tofu had really good flavor & was cooked to perfection. There was plenty of tofu in this dish as well. My sister ordered the Drunken Noodles with a side of rice, medium heat. She said she was glad she didn’t do hot heat on this because the medium heat level had a really good amount & hot would have likely been too hot for her. I tried a few of her veggies in her dish & they were pretty spicy! Portions were generous & we both took home take home containers with most of our food. I felt like there was only one employee working the night we went & she seemed a little overwhelmed but she did a great job at keeping up with everyone the best she could. I would go here again!

This food was great for local Thai! It’s a small, cute and cozy little restaurant where the service is above average and the portions are generous! Prices are also fair! I would probably come back!

We used to go to Thai Rod Dee in Layton quite a bit, then it shut down for a while and we assumed (I read it somewhere) that is was under new ownership. We went tonight and they are actually not under new ownership, they were closed for a few months for renovations!! Everything is still the same!
We ordered:
Spring rolls:9/10 they were delicious and the peanut sauce was amazing
Sweet and Sour chicken(mild heat): 9/10 fresh, veggies and the portion was large!
Thai Basil with chicken(extra heat) 10/10, super spicy in the best way, also large portion and the veggies were cooked to perfection
Red Curry with chicken (extra spicy) 11/10 SO good, I have tried other curry’sand this one is always superior.
All meals came with jasmine rice and are large enough for a second meal!
The service was amazing and so friendly, there were a lot of to-go orders so they were really able to focus on us and a few other people in the building.
Definitely will keep this restaurant in our regular rotation again

First time here. Food and service was fantastic. Dining area is fairly small so you’re packed in a little cozier than we prefer; however it was worth the great food.

My wife loves Thai food. We found this place which isn’t the nicest looking but the food is amazing. She loves the Massaman curry. I got the sweet and sour chicken stir fry. Both really good. The cream cheese wontons are so so good. My wife likes the egg rolls. I’m just not a fan of egg rolls in general but she said they were great. Give it a shot.

Not everyday you taste the best meal of your life- well, you can here. It’s the best Thai food I’ve ever tasted and I’ve tried a lot of Thai places. Prices are $14- $20 per plate, so a bit pricier but it’s worth it, and they do give pretty generous portions. The Pad Thai and the Panang curry are my favorites. As well as the Beef Pho- I swear it has healing powers. I had a cold and felt so much better after eating the soup. I didn’t give 5 stars because the place could use a bit of an update and they could benefit greatly having more employee help in the lobby. It seems like the owner is the only employee out there, she’s awesome but they are busy and she needs help. 🙂 If you liked my review or found it helpful please give me a thumbs up. thanks!

My second time here. First time was dine in, and this time I ordered takeout. This is good Thai food! The service is fast and friendly. I’ve had their noodles and their curry and have been pleased by both! The portion size is great too.
The restaurant has a great vibe. More of an old-school Asian restaurant. The staff definitely care about the quality of your experience and it shows.
This has become my go-to for Thai food in southern Davis County!

Lunch at Thai Rod Dee in Layton. I can’t get past how much it needs cleaning, organizing and an update. It’s very dated and tired looking.
The food was good but not amazing. I got the fresh spring rolls and they were fresh. Not a fan of the thick peanut sauce.
My chicken basil was good and the rice was too. My friend got the pineapple curry and liked it. It’s on the lunch menu and it was about $13 with tax.
I do love the bright color and freshness overall.
Service was ok. I know a lot of people love this place but it’s not enough to make me want to go back.

Honestly, i’ve never feel that much welcomed at a food place. The workers are so kind and make you feel welcome. The food is delicious (even better than in Thailand). Come here if you want to eat the best food and have a good time. I’m in love with this place and i will come back everytime !
