We always stop here when we bike the NCR. It’s one of the reasons I bike to stop at random cafes on the route. The service is great, food is delicious and what a lovely place.

My friend and I stopped in before our river activities. Joe was super nice and let us know everything on the menu was good. I ordered the bacon egg cheese croissant. Friend got the Strawberry smoothie. Very quick and satisfying. After the river trip stopped back in for the 2 scoop chocolate ice cream.

They have a small, but amazing menu. The area to eat in is cute and cozy. The food is fresh, hand-crafted and delicious. I have had the mushroom soup and it was to die for, the bread was awesome too. The owner talked me into trying the ice cream and it was unique, local and something you will come back for. Today my daughter and I had the french toast and a belgium waffle topped with homemade pumpkin. It was devine! We can’t wait to come back and try more off the menu.

The Monkton Hotel Cafe is a delightful stop right off the trail, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. I dropped in for a drink and a snack, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.
The cafe offers a nice selection of snacks and beverages, ideal for a quick refuel. I enjoyed a refreshing drink that perfectly complemented my light bite.
What sets the Monkton Cafe apart is the variety of activities planned throughout the month. It’s clear that they’re committed to fostering a sense of community, and it’s a great spot to catch local events or simply enjoy the company of fellow visitors.
If you’re in the area, definitely make a point to stop by for a relaxing break. I’m looking forward to returning to check out their upcoming events!

Best BLT I’ve ever had. Husband said hot roast-beef sandwich was “delicious” and my new favorite ice cream stop to top off a perfect lunch! Joe’s service was hospitable & quick and he even let me try a few flavors of icecream before buying. The combo of Honey Graham and Keylime Pie is out of this world. Perfect for a hot summer day! So lucky to have this gem in our town! Thanks Monkton Hotel, see you again soon.

We stopped in to get a quick lunch, while driving on 138. Good menu, reasonable price, and delicious food. We sat at the terrace and enjoyed the view.
Joe was really friendly, and recommended some items from the menu.
Highly recommended.=!!

This is my first time stopping here. It’s along the NCR trail, which is fantastic for walking or riding your bike. We stopped here to use the restroom while riding our bikes and noticed the Monkton hotel. They have a little café, so we got some food and a cup of coffee.
The coffee had a good flavor (not weak) and my ham sandwich on toasted sour dough was great. Cute little place with a lot of history. They also have outside seating.

No question about it, nothing better on the NCR. Quaint revived building with artistic charm. Delicious sandwiches, cold beverages, Zekes coffee, and the Tahartkas ice cream. Eat in or take out. I had the BLT with avocado. Games for kids. Art work for sale on the walls. Don’t miss this locale. On the trail, near the water, across from the old Monkton Train Station

Walked in there with my wife today asking for a Cappuccino. Was told by a “big dude” that the “machine was broken and that they only had regular coffee”. I walked out while my wife bought an ice cream in that shop. Waited for her in the car in their parking lot and ate a cookie. One of their bike mechanics walked by my car and hinted that I shouldn’t be parking in their lot and quickly walked away. Not good. “Customer Parking Only”. I understand. Although my wife was a customer I moved the car anyway in order avoid conflict. In the meantime wife returns with her ice cream and tells me that this place only serves specialty coffees such as Cappuccino on weekends. A lady who works in the coffee shop just told her that. Not good again. “Big dude” in the shop apparently was lying to me earlier. Needless to say, I won’t be back.
