Tonight we tried the new Spice of Bombay Indian restaurant in Lee’s Summit. I had the Chicken Curry and my husband had the Chicken Tikka Masala. We split chicken samosas as an appetizer and had garlic naan with our meal. Everything was absolutely delicious! Service was attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Sat., Jan. 31, 2026 – Being a recently opened restaurant we tried this place and was not disappointed at all. Located in the former ” Dragon J ” space in the shopping center at 3rd and Ward Rd in Lee’s Summit, MO. Think Hy-Vee shopping center. Upon entry into the restaurant is a well stocked and appealing buffett. Stepping into the dining area are beautiful white tables, set with hammered brass copper goblets and pitchers for water service and gold eating utensils placed on real cloth napkins. The service was superior, the food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. Very classy interior and tastefully decorated. The single restroom was clean and had a baby changing table. We arrived near opening time and the place filled up fast. I had the ” butter chicken ” which tickled my taste buds. Complimentary chai tea and naan bread were scrumptious! They do not have a liquor license yet but the back splash is set up for bar service. Great selection of beers for the beer enthusiasts. They were busy with to go orders also. The last photo is of a mixture of vegetables, lamb, chicken and fish. I don’t remember the name.

Spice of Bombay earns a solid 4 stars. The food was great, hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We ordered the meal for two special and had plenty left to take home, which was a nice bonus.
The experience started a bit rough, as the initial service felt unfriendly and inattentive, and the food took longer than expected. That said, it was clear everything was cooked to order, which we appreciated. Toward the end of the meal, the service completely turned around. The host/waiter were attentive and even brought out an off menu dessert for us to try, which was a thoughtful touch.
The restaurant itself is easy to find, with plenty of seating, and the space feels modern and clean. With strong food and improved service by the end, it’s a place we’d return to.

We had an amazing experience at Spice of Bombay. The food was absolutely phenomenal — truly melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Every dish we tried was full of flavor, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made with care.
They offer a full buffet with a great variety of options, which made it easy to try a little bit of everything. While it is on the pricier side, the quality of the food makes it completely worth it. You can taste the difference.
The staff struck the perfect balance with service. They were present, attentive, and available if we needed anything, but they didn’t constantly interrupt or hover — which made the experience even more enjoyable and relaxed.
If you’re looking for flavorful, authentic Indian cuisine that’s worth the price, this place is definitely a must-try. We’ll absolutely be back!

The food was delicious and flavorful. The lunch buffet had the right amount of entree choices and limited desserts. The buffet came with fresh naan! The buffet was around $20/person, which isn’t unreasonable for the quality. I would recommend 🙂 It does look like to-go orders are an option which I’ll try next time.

I really want to see you guys succeed, your food is fantastic and I know my parents had a great time too. I hope my YouTube video gains some traction and helps you out. Be sure to let me know when you get your liquor license. My shrimp Curry was incredible I just wish the portion size was a tiny little bit larger but you also have the buffet which I would like to check out sometime too. Say hi to was it Andy or Johnny for me? I’m also curious about hearing about that museum to see if we know the same people. Cheers!
