Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about management. What I personally witnessed in the kitchen area was deeply concerning. I observed what appeared to be roaches present, and I saw situations involving food handling and storage that made me very uncomfortable. At one point, rainwater was leaking into food trays and the items were not discarded. I also saw food being sampled in a way that did not appear sanitary. The frontline staff work hard and maintain professionalism, but leadership sets the standard — and right now, that standard feels far below what it should be. Cleanliness, food safety, and accountability start at the top. What’s most frustrating is that the staff often had to operate within these conditions while still trying to maintain professionalism. Leadership sets the tone for safety and standards — and in this case, that leadership consistently fell short.
I truly hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes meaningful improvements, because the employees and customers both deserve better.
Arrr, gather ‘round, mates, for I bring a tale of mild disappointment and medium salsa from the shores of Cactus Cantina.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was hopeful—ready to feast, drink, and shout “YO HO HO” over a solid margarita. Instead… I got a premade drink that tasted like it was mixed by a pirate with one eye closed and both hands tied behind his back. Average at best, and that’s being generous. I’ve had stronger flavors chewing on a lime wedge in the middle of the ocean.
The food? Aye, it filled me belly, but the plate looked like it had survived a storm at sea. Messy, scattered, and not in the “rustic pirate charm” kind of way—more like someone dropped anchor right on top of it.
But the biggest blow to me sailor spirit?
The crew. Instead of tending to their hungry guests, they seemed more interested in mingling with each other like it was a tavern on shore leave. Lots of chatter, not much service. I waved harder than a man trying not to be left behind on an island.
When a pirate goes ashore, he expects a little more attention than a seagull on the dock. Instead, I got less. Much less.
Overall, a less-than-average voyage. Not the worst port I’ve ever docked at, but certainly not one I’ll be charting a course back to anytime soon.
If ye seek adventure, mates… ye best sail elsewhere. ☠️

Lots of shrimp, sauté onions & peppers smothered in queso cheese. So good I did even use the sour cream & tomato that came with it. Chips were thin and crispy & the salsa had a bite but not to spicy and very good on the taste buds.
Had the queso cheese dip, again top notch! Thick & delicious.
Great atmosphere Christmas music in the background and the buzz of conversation, but not so loud thst we couldn’t enjoy our conversation. Family getogether with family just in from North Carolina, Texas, & New York.
I was to busy eating to take pictures. Sorry. But food was well presented and everyone enjoyed there choices.
And I can’t forget the chips honestly, they were extremely greasy and completely flavorless. Overall, it was a very unpleasant experience!
