CAFE BORJA serves up fine Italian cuisine located in Munster, IN. I found the restaurant interesting from the outside. It is a stand alone architectural building & colorful. That alone made me wanting to visit. Once inside the aesthetics did not disappoint. Venetian glass lighting hung front to back of dining room from local artisans. This colorful feature was A++ art worthy! I found the atmosphere delightful, organic & charming. Food was very good as well. I ordered a house wine brandy & found it flavorful as well as my order of fettuccine alfredo. The noodles were perfecto. My companions were impressed with their choices… each an appealing presentation with plentiful portion sizes to bring home. Dessert was exceptional across the table. I cannot imagine there being better tiramisu (tiramisu lovers) & the portion size was large enough for 3-4 people! The restaurant was clean, acoustically comfortable & tables spaced out a proper distance from other customers. Price point compared to other fine dining establishments with good Italian food. If you are a large group please be quite aware beforehand that your total with be by table only. The restaurant does not do split bill which would be the only downside. I would have given higher star points for this restaurant had it done so. Otherwise I do recommend Cafe Borja for a great night out dining experience. I also would suggest finding a sitter for the children as this is appropriately considerate for other patrons. Grabbed a shrimp Alfredo to go, no silverware or napkins or anything at all besides the Alfredo in the Togo bag.Portion looked a bit small compared to the price but when I opened container and started eating it was actually an ok amount of food. Food itself was good. Shrimps were a big overcooked so the texture was a little harder for my taste. Overall would go back for a date type deal. But not something I see myself at frequently.

I just want to say I love this place! The service was soooo professional. They made us feel so fancy and special!! We had our wedding dinner here! The room was beautiful!!! The whole restaurant was so beautiful and classy! Perfect for weddings. 10/10 experience!!! Thank you for making our special day even more special And the workers worked so hard to make us feel welcomed and happy! A woman even sang for us so we can have our dance God bless her wherever she is! Thank you for being a big part of our special day and we will ALWAYS remember our wedding dinner and all the fun, love, and laughter we shared! God bless you all!!!

It is always one of the best dining experiences. The food is Top Tier delicious! The staff is so friendly and welcoming. And the place is gorgeous with all the blown glass light fixtures. We moved about 1.5 hours away and will come here again and again. It is my favorite place to eat.

I consider myself a food connoisseur. I personally did not enjoy the salmon at all. This was the first time I ever disliked salmon. The mixed veggies were good. Overall, I would say that it is a nice atmosphere, the wait staff is overly attentive at times. I’ve been there a few times and I’ve had enough of their food to finally give and honest review. If they could work on the quality and preparation of the food this place would be an absolute gem.

Placed a to-go order for the lamb shanks, and I was not disappointed. My taste buds were thrilled with the generous portion and excellent, rich, savory, flavorful, and incredibly tender meat easily falling from the bone with a melt-in-your-mouth texture. The flavorful sauce had a hint of garlic, rosemary, wine, and other spices that came together perfectly to complement the lamb’s natural taste. The roasted potatoes and broccoli were perfectly cooked. The to-go service team was very welcoming and professional.

We just enjoyed a lovely evening. Excellent service! Great food and drink. Party of 5 truly enjoyable evening. Got the bill and set out two cards. That’s when our enjoyment took a turn.
We only take one payment. HUH!? Only one payment! Well our bill was $376.xx. No complaints about the bill. Costs of everything were reasonable. But I wasn’t planning to pay for the whole table! My friend who was splitting the bill with me wasn’t paying for our half either! What in the actual!? My husband ended up having to pay the entire bill!!!! THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY SIX DOLLARS! Plus tip!! What are they thinking? Only one card payment allowed! Huh!? I’m still stunned.
While I loved Cafe Borgia, I don’t think we’ll be back. Friday night and they weren’t crowded. I guess I now know why. Very unfortunate.
BTW, we have been patrons of Cafe Borgia since back in the day when they were located in Lansing, IL. Back when they didn’t have a liquor license and it was BYOB. Yes, we go way back. I think maybe ownership has changed hands as I remember the owners as two gentlemen. But I was advised tonight that the owner was the female who greeted as we were seated. Honestly, I was too upset to speak with her of the unacceptable practice of one payment. My guess is she doesn’t care and we won’t be missed. But then again, they weren’t full on a Friday night. Must be others who just decided they wouldn’t be back…,

This place is wonderful. Loved the atmosphere and the service was impeccable. The food is prepared with perfection. I grew up in the Hill area of St. Louis and if anyone is familiar with the Hill, it is a gathering of the best authentic Italian restaurants in St. Louis. Cafe Borgia really made me feel like I was back home on the Hill.
