Established in 1981 in downtown Walnut Creek, Sunrise Bistro and Catering is committed to serving the Bay Area fresh, sustainable, housemade foods. We are committed to cooking from scratch as we make almost everything we serve in house, from the baking of our sandwich breads to the making of our own, amazing salad dressings. We are leaders in sustainable practices, and source organic foods wherever possible. We believe strongly in our real food philosophy and minimize the addition of any processed foods / ingredients. When we visit NorCal we always make as many stops here as possible. I think we’ve covered a lot of the breakfast/lunch options and we’ve been very pleased. The food is always fresh and tasty but some standouts are any of the omelettes and Benedict dishes. I love their blueberry power scone, but a family favorite is the zucchini bread which personally I find just a bit too sweet. The salads are fresh and filed with a wide variety of veggies. My recent tuna salad was so big that I took half of it home.
The service here is outstanding, all lovely smiles and attentiveness.

Had the eggs Benedict with crispy bacon (instead of Canadian) and requested crispy roasted potatoes — they were perfect. The lemon ricotta pancake was great too.
In the end, we had a chocolate chip cookie to go from the pastry area in the front, and a slice of lemon cake from the pastry case, and I can’t wait to come again. Next time I’ll skip the bacon — it was super salty and gave me a headache.
They’ve switched to a new system: check in, order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Smooth and efficient.
My cousin had the corned beef hash (which already includes potatoes) plus a side of potatoes — something to note.
Still one of my favorite spots! I would have to be honest, and rate this place 1 star higher than Crumbs at PH. Cheers!!

Really liked this spot. I like the ordering system. I was greeted warmly by the two employees I initially had contact with. I had the biscuit breakfast sandwich, very filling and the biscuit was so good. I had one pancake and man was that delicious! The parking is also a plus. Will definitely come back to check out other options!

I’ve tried this restaurant three times so far. The first two times were great, but my most recent visit wasn’t good at all. I’d give 3 stars for my latest experience, but 5 stars for the first two. Overall, I’ll give it 4 stars, and I’m willing to give it another shot!

This is the place to go for breakfast and lunch! You cant be disappointed! I have been going here for years. I used to take my parents here after taking them to Kaiser appointments. My favorite is the Joe’s scramble. My son loves the brisket hash! Their bread is homemade for their sandwiches and their homemade pastries are the best around for miles! The cinnamon rolls and pecan cookies are my favorite. My son loves the blueberry muffins and my mom loved the morning buns. So many options! They even have a vegan tofu hash! Go!!! Treat yourself!

I like visiting Sunrise Bistro for breakfast. The convenient parking, manageable wait times, and good service make it a hassle-free spot for breakfast or brunch. I’ve tried a few dishes, like the carnitas and eggs and corned beef hash, but my favorite by far is the smoked brisket hash, which has become my go-to order. Overall, it’s a nice place for breakfast or brunch. You should definitely consider them when looking for breakfast in the area.

The food is always so fresh and delicious (shoutout in particular to their produce buyer). I’m usually a “treat” girlie when I go out but I gravitate to their salads because they’re so fun/tasty. OMG! The Lemon ricotta pancakes were my favorite! It’s so fluffy and delicious! The breakfast burrito was loaded with everything you want for breakfast! The Corned Beef and Smoked Brisket are a must-try, it was super tasty!
If you know me by now, you know how much I love a good salad! The Thai chicken salad and Caesars Goddess Salad were so yummy! And don’t forget their yummy house-made pastries!! We got their morning bun and zucchini bread, it was so moist.

I miss being able to walk to my favorite restaurants. Walking to a movie theater to see the latest show on a whim was such a simple pleasure.
Sunrise Bistro is one of those places I cherished where you can get a well made – home made breakfast – the kind your mom used to make you on Saturday morning while you watched your favorite cartoons.
Alisha took the time to seat me in an area of the restaurant that was a bit more quite and less rushed. She is the star of this review. Thank you Alisha.
