I feel like they’re making all the right changes. Last night my wife and I ate there for the first time in years and it was amazing. I got the triple with the super fries my wife got a burger basket and everything tasted great. Fries were great, tho needed salt but I prefer it needing salt and we can add some vs overly salty.

Burgers were awesome.

We left for under 30 bucks out the door. Feels unheard of today for the quality of food we got.

They are well on their way to complete automation. Quite sad really. They used to have great employees that actually cared for their customers. I counted a total of 3 employees during dinner service. 2 cooks and 1 front of the house employee that looked completely overwhelmed. Especially when trying to explain to every customer over 40 that they need to place their order at one of the automated kiosks, and he cannot take cash from them.

We had an excellent experience at the Steak ’n Shake pickup window thanks to Dontis. He provided outstanding customer service from start to finish friendly, attentive, and efficient. He confirmed our order with care, made sure everything was prepared correctly, and maintained a positive attitude throughout the interaction.

Employees like Dontis make a noticeable difference in the customer experience. His professionalism and welcoming manner reflect highly on the location, and we truly appreciated his service today.

My first time at a #SteakNShake was in Kansas City over 20 years ago and I’ve been wanting to return since. While the interiors have changed with self serve kiosks instead of printed menus the food is just as good. Steak ‘n Shake was founded in 1934 in Normal, Illinois. They were one of the pioneers of premium burgers and milk shakes. For over 85 years, the company’s name has been symbolic of its heritage. The word “steak” stood for STEAKBURGER. The term “shake” stood for hand-dipped MILK SHAKES. So in that tradition My husband and I ordered the Garlic Double steakburger with extra Garlic sauce. Can never have too much garlic as far as we are concerned. We also ordered the lovely battered #OnionRings the #Fries both cooked in Beef Tallow (McDonald’s use to cook their fries in Beef tallow) and we both opted for the #OreoMintShake with lots of crunchy Oreo bits. The workers were friendly and kept everything tidy. Glad to have returned to this mid-west chain hopefully the next time won’t be in 20 years.

Ordering was done using a kiosk. The food came out quickly and hot. The dining area and the bathrooms were clean. The employee that brought out the food was polite. The food had a great texture and popping flavor. Fries were tasty. Prices are great.

They seemed very short staffed! For a family of 3, we waited 30+ minutes for our food. Definitely not fast, but if we wanted it truly fast, we should have gone through drive through rather than dine in. We were there for approximately an hr total and only saw staff, apart from the guy cooking the burgers, when our food was brought out and the last 10 minutes when another staff member was cleaning and trying to work the window. Props to her for multitasking! That was actually pretty impressive to see. The food itself was ok but pretty bland compared to what we are use to at a Steak n Shake. While we weren’t totally thrilled with our experience, we acknowledge that times get busy and people can only get so much done at one time. Staff was friendl, which was a plus. They need more employees though.

Horrible, and that’s putting it nicely. What kind of 50’s themed joint makes you scan a code for drinks? Let alone order from a computer while the kitchen staff just stare at you in the backround? The food was bad, the service was horrible. And worst of all, there was no music to even counteract the awful atmosphere.

Food is better than average. Thats all that’s good.
No customer service or friendliness what so ever.
Must use a computer to order and pay.
If you need anything, you get straight attitude from the staff.
No music in the restaurant except from way back in the kitchen.
Drinks are a scan to get filled.
They are doing everything to cut staffing costs and keeping the food just as expensive!
A hospital cafe would have a better overall experience and atmosphere than this joke!
Supposed to be a 50’s themed restaurant not the Great Depression!!!!!
