The Olde Mecklenburg Brewery is Charlotte’s oldest and largest craft brewery with the largest beer garden in the Southeast. We make world-class, award-winning beer and serve it fresh! Relax in the comfort of our Biergarten or Brauhaus with a cold brew and enjoy a Bavarian-style pretzel with beer cheese. Prost!
Spacious brewery with a pub & 8-acre beer garden offering its house brews in a lively setting.

Olde Mecklenburg was an awesome environment; I went at Christmas time, and it was such a fun Christmas market. They had vendors selling local products out of booths, multiple bars where you could grab drinks from, and beautiful ornament-themed lights. My favorite part of the brewery was definitely the outdoor fire pit, which was such a fun place to sit and watch the fire while chatting with other patrons.
On the flip side, as much as I loved the atmosphere, I was not impressed whatsoever with their selection of beers. They had one IPA which I didn’t think was very good, and a Porter that was way too strong in my opinion.
As a result, I would give Olde Mecklenburg a solid three (3) stars, as there was a sizable disconnect between the ambiance and the product being sold.

Great place to have a couple brews and enjoy the weather. Even when it’s cold they have plenty of fire pits to provide a warm atmosphere. They have a great selection of beers all served in unique glasses depending on the type of beer you order. I would love to see this place in September during a College Football Weekend.

Fun place with good service. I want to come back for Oktoberfest. Beautiful setup too. The beers are truly the star of the show. The Captain Jack and Vienna lager were excellent!

Visiting from out of town and was told by locals to come visit. They were not wrong! First of all, I didn’t expect such a large, beautiful bier garden so close to downtown. The whole vibe outside is chill and relaxing. We had their pretzel and smash burger and both were awesome. But the beer…WOO! Each beer was just as great as the last and the beertenders were very knowledgeable and helpful. The Hazy IPA recommendation was spot on. If you find yourself in Charlotte please make this a stop. I’ll definitely be back here when we come visit again.

We go to OMB about once a month. Today Preston gave us the worst service we have ever had at OMB. We were greeted by a different server who was really nice got our drinks and put our food order in. Then Preston show’s up and say’s “we are changing you check over, the waiter was in the wrong section. This way your tip goes to the right person”. He then proceeded to give us crap service. Never offered my wife a second beer, never offered desert, the only refill I got I had to wait til he walked by and flag him down. Never brought the check, we had to ask another server for the check.

I’ve been coming to OMB since 2016, and it’s still my forever go-to brewery in Charlotte! The ambience is unbeatable, with spacious outdoor seating, great music, and a relaxed vibe that’s perfect for hanging out with friends.
It’s also surprisingly family-friendly — plenty of open space and a welcoming atmosphere for all ages. Whether it’s a sunny afternoon or a cool evening, OMB always delivers a great experience.
If “Friends” had their Central Perk coffee shop, this is mine. After nearly a decade of visits, it’s safe to say OMB will always be my favorite spot in Charlotte.

Currywurst w/ extra side of beer cheese and an American stout.
If you want full-bodied flavor, the currywurst lacks the punch, no crunch on the skin, and it was served fairly light on the curry powder. The beer cheese is also missing that *pow!* umami of the cheese.
However, all the vendors and staff are very friendly and attentive. The facilities are very clean. The fire pits are well-stocked with firewood, too.
Will come back again for the general vibes. Cheers!

Fantastic spot for German-style beer and comfort food! I loved the fresh Copper Altbier and bratwurst, enjoyed the huge shaded biergarten, and appreciated the family- and dog-friendly layout. Friendly staff, live music, clean and peaceful. Perfect for a casual day or festive night out.

We used to visit frequently and have not been in at least a year. The service was actually terrible! We visited on a Friday night and they were dead!! The servers were hiding out in the hallway. The food was terrible!! So incredibly salty. I ordered a side of salmon with the French onion soup. The salmon was so over cooked and I’m pretty sure it was not freshly cooked when I ordered it. There were 4 of us and only my husband enjoyed his meal. The servers didn’t come check on us. So disappointed that we wasted money on food and came home hungry. There was a fire in the fire pit and smoke came right in our direction. It was at least 75 degrees, so why did we need an empty fire pit where people were trying to eat?!

Mainly here for the atmosphere, DAVE’S post birthday party, trivia night and we won 1st place. First time here was for a kids birthday party. She turned all of ONE YEARS OLD, but a true testament of just what to expect or not. Great experience each time, FUN TIMES!!! Food was good also! Typical bar food, but I’m picky so don’t mind me on this. The layout of this place is AMAZING, & so was the sunset!
