WELCOME TO ARDNAMURCHAN Sourcing unique and artisan products from the Highlands and Islands is of great importance to us. So please, sit back and enjoy a dram or tuck into some of Scotland’s best offerings from land and shore. The name Ardnamurchan comes from the Gaelic ‘Àird nam Murchan’ translating as ‘headland of the great seas’ and is one of the UK’s great unspoiled wildernesses. Rugged, isolated and utterly wild, it juts into the Atlantic at the most westerly point of the British mainland. The area is renowned for the quality and freshness of it’s local produce, including fish and shellfish from the sea, lochs and rivers, deer, cattle and sheep raised in the hills and glens and wild game from the heaths and moorland.

Casual, easygoing eatery serving Scottish meat & seafood dishes plus wine, beer & cocktails.

Our visit to Ardnamurchan Scottish Restaurant & Bar was part of a trip to Glasgow to celebrate a friend’s 40th birthday. Before the main celebrations, we decided to make a walk-in stop for lunch for two so we could try some traditional Scottish food.

The restaurant was beautiful—very warm, cozy, clean, and contemporary, with a welcoming atmosphere that immediately made us feel comfortable. The staff were friendly and attentive, and our waiter was especially helpful with food recommendations, which we really appreciated.

The portions were well sized, the food was excellent, and the service was prompt and efficient. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience and a great introduction to Scottish cuisine. We would definitely recommend Ardnamurchan to anyone visiting Glasgow.

It was good but not amazing. Worth a visit if you’re in the area. Good quality food and I like that the ingredients are sourced locally.

Drinks were very slow as I think they only had one staff member on the bar.

Overall good, I would come back again.

Absolutely fantastic food, I am not easily pleased. Wine and food top class I had a steak and my bestie had venison stew.
The acoustics r great, music wasn’t to loud and could have a normal conversation. The only thing that has dampen my experience is the booth we were sat in I could hear the led light transformer buzzing. If we r ever back in Glasgow I’d love to visit again.

We had dinner here and it was excellent. All the food was very tasty and the portions were right. The prices were alright and it was great to see they don’t include automatic service charges like many other greedy places around, so of course left a well deserved tip. It can get quite full, so make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend having dinner here if you want some great Scottish food.

Fabulous food, great atmosphere, and the staff are extremely helpful. We arrived early for our booking, and sat at the bar with drinks, a nice booth like table for 2. Our drinks and food order were taken and arrived quickly, we both chose from the market menu, which a very reasonable prices even with a supplement for the steak. The food was excellent and well presented, staff could not do more to make our visit enjoyable.
This was my second visit and will definitely be back, hopefully soon.

Oh my god, this was ridiculously good.

That mysterious “cement-looking” block perfectly married mushroom and truffle, the saltiness was spot on, the truffle aroma was rich but never overwhelming, and the texture was clean with zero greasiness. Any truffle lover would absolutely lose their mind. Chef, can I buy this “cement” on its own, please?

The sides felt like refined starters themselves.
Grilled cabbage with wholegrain mustard which is fresh yet full of flavour.
Roasted carrots wrapped in a gentle garlic note, natural sweetness balanced with herbal, buttery richness, perfectly juicy.

Venison pavé (if you can’t eat meat medium-rare, maybe skip this one)…
But honestly, how can something be this good? One bite and I literally had to pause and just sit there to process the happiness. If you didn’t tell me, I wouldn’t even guess it was game; it doesn’t taste like beef, but it doesn’t feel “wild” either. How to describe it… maybe like a deer running across your tongue?
Charred, smoky aroma on the outside; unbelievably tender, soulful inside. And that sauce is absolute perfection. Two light-brown dollops with a deep, fatty umami reminiscent of fish brain (in the best possible way), lifting both the flavour and texture of the meat to another level.

Wine pairing, thanks to my friend, pure genius.

We started with Prosecco: crisp, vibrant bubbles, fresh acidity and fruitiness setting a perfect opening tone.
BEL CANTO PROSECCO, ITALY
Delicate and aromatic with fine bubbles, full of peach, pear and elegant zest.

For the venison, a fuller-bodied red was chosen, and it was wonderful — smooth, softly sweet, sometimes bright with acidity, sometimes velvety and gentle depending on the food. Loved it.

(Disclaimer: I might be biased, after two years of regular drinking, everything tastes slightly sweet to me now.)

Everything was excellent; I just picked the dishes that moved me the most.
A rare moment worth recording.

A celebration, a reunion, joy, and happiness — all in one meal.

Made a dinner reservation for 3 people, intending to try traditional Scottish food. The interior was beautiful, very warm, cozy, clean, and contemporary. The menu offered variety. We ordered venison with chips, lamb shank pie and haggis. Each tasted high quality and refined. The portions were well sized. The experience was very warm and hearty. The service was prompt, and polite, but not exceedingly warm. Totalled in around £90, which seems quite pricey to me. Happy to have come here.

I just wanted soup for dinner and they had an amazing tomato, lentil, and thyme soup of the day that was perfect. My husband opted for the two course meal selection and had a wonderful terrine starter and a seriously delicious venison stew. Service was good and the place is very nice inside. That stew makes me want to go back!

Fantastic restaurant. We dined as a couple, booking for dinner. We decided to arrive early for drinks. The bartender was really knowledgeable and friendly- the coast to coast IPA was a winner! There is a good selection of local beers and spirits as well as the usual brands.
The service was second to none, our starters arrived quickly. The Cullen Skink was amazing, my Husband ordered the haggis, neeps and tatties as a starter and was not disappointed. For mains we ordered the beef short rib and the lamb , both were well presented and the meat was melt in the mouth. My only criticism would be polenta – not my first choice of carbs but I did try my Husband’s Rumbledethumps ! Delicious!!
We couldn’t manage dessert but the ones that came past us looked lovely.
The things that made it stand out for us in addition to the food, were the service – friendly , attentive staff , not as common in restaurants now as it should be and the restaurant layout, plenty of space between tables, I hate feeling like I am sat too close to other diners.
5 stars from us , would definitely return
