Elote Café has the best Elote Ive ever had! The service was great and the food was excellent. If you like Mexican food but don’t want cheap tasteless food this is a great restaurant for you to try. We couldn’t get a reservation on line but I called the day we wanted to go to see if they had a cancellation. As luck would have it we got a reso at 5 no problem. This place is packed and there was a line right when they opened. We had the Elote, pork checks and brisket enchilada and Agave ice cream Sunday. All were amazing! This place is a bit pricey but worth it. There is not much of a red rock view so keep that in mind. Lower stars on atmosphere because this place is loud! I had a hard time hearing the other people in my party and this could be a bit overwhelming for sound sensitive people. I would suggest eating outside because it might be quieter.

Best Elote ever! Service is top notch , flavors are exceptional and clean fresh ingredients BUT not spicy like traditional Mexican food I’m used to, however that could also be a good thing.
We’ll definitely be back! Be sure to make a reservation!!!! No Parties of 8 or more, and if it’s just you or a party of two ask for bar seating as a last minute option. Best of luck!

Hands down the best food I’ve had in Sedona. The lamb adobo was divine with perfect flavors and texture, accompanied with the rice and beans. I’m still dreaming about the cornbread cake. And even though I’m not a big chocolate lover the Mexican chocolate cake was quite delicious. I don’t think you can go wrong with anything from here. Our server, Adrian, was just great! He was patient, enthusiastic, and extremely helpful.

The service was great, all the recommendations were on point. The food is outstanding! Very original delicious dishes, it seems evident to us that all was done in house with fresh ingredients, even the whipped cream in the desert. The desert in the picture is cornbread with agaave vanilla ice cream and I highly recommend, not your usual desert but delicious with some frozen corn on top that will surprise you. I regret not taking pictures of all the food but the salsa for the complementary chips is fantastic, the brisket enchiladas were delicious and the ABSOLUTE star of the night was the schimp with spinach! The quality of the ingredients was great and the smoky flavor on the sauce was incredible! I have blackberry margarita which was very well made and not too sweet at all.

I’ll try to keep it short, but in essence, please, do yourself a favor and make a visit to this absolutely phenomenal cafe at least once in your life if you consider yourself a foodie, and even if you don’t! I waited over a year and a half to finally make it here and every second was worth it. Even feeling like I might die from how full my stomach was after this decadent night out was worth every bite.

Firstly, we started off the night with their classic elote. Not much to say other than the flavor and texture was absolutely ideal in every way. Perfectly creamy, not too spicy. A lil squeeze of lime over the top and a pat of Cholula or a spoon of their house made salsa really seals this as one of my top dishes of all time, but the sauce is not necessary by any means.

Next, we tried both the pork belly and seafood tacos. Both fantastic, both very different from each other. The pork belly was succulent and savory with a hint of sweenesst from a barbecueesque sauce which paired excellently with the southwestern inspired flavor profile. The fish tacos leaned further into a sweeter flavor profile which worked very well with the creamy avocado and sauce drizzled on top. The sea bass was very fishy, which I personally like but I could see this not being a favorite among non seafood lovers.

The main courses consisted of the Buffalo short ribs in a savory, citrusy mole sauce and the Duck carnitas in a smoky and slightly sweet adobo. Again, both excellent in their own respects, meat cooked to perfection. I really enjoyed the crispy duck skin which came stood in the middle of the plate of carnitas. You get a side of rice and refried black beans which are very intentionally left unseasoned so you can scrape the remainder of the delicious sauces into them once you’ve finished the bulk of your meats. Eating both bowls of rice and beans is inadvisable, despite how delicious it may be, as I’m fairly certain this is where my near death experience came from.

Finally, we have the deserts. Both utilize their in house made agave sweetened vanilla ice cream which stands strongly on its own merit but when paired with the fluffy and moist corn cake, or the salty and crunchy cookie really elevates the whole experience.

Every single item tried this evening is in my opinion a 10/10 I have no critique, however, one dish stood above the rest and deserves special recognition.

If you leave this place trying just one dish, please, do yourself the favor of trying the Agave Icecream Sundae. This particular dish is one of the few I have ever had which I consider to be an 11/10 experience. Especially as a sweet corn loving individual, paired with the Agave Icecream and candied papitas this salty, crunchy corn cookie is simply in a category of its own. I highly recommend crumbling the cookie up and mixing all the flavors together.

All in all, a fantastic night out and very reasonable cost. The final bill for this over-endulgent evening was 180 before tip which I personally consider to be extreme value for the quality of the food, and not to mention the service! Jose was a gracious host, and table service was prompt and not obstructive.

Again, please, if you are a fan of southwestern inspired quizine, treat yourself to an evening, at Elote Cafe.

I’ve been wanting to try Elote Café for a few years now and can never get a reso. One popped up on open table and we grabbed it last minute. The elote itself lives up to the hype—creamy & smoky, and the smoked brisket enchiladas are unforgettable. The chips & salsa are excellent, the service is warm, and the atmosphere feels upscale yet relaxed. It books up fast, but it’s worth planning ahead.

I had a very nice dinner at Elote but but it was just fine not great. The service actually was very very good, but the Mina de Oro cocktail just tasted like watered down Mezcal (way too much ice), and the specialty lamb was ‘fine’. The shank was nicely braised (super tender) but the finishing sauce was too salty. I was dining solo so maybe this would’ve been a better experience if I’d gotten to sample many dishes.

Great good & perfect service. We had the Elote (must have), nopales salad- really good, and lamb adobo which was phenomenal. We got a reservation at the bar & I’d literally run back just to have Adrian’s service: attentive, great drinks & saved my blouse with club soda. But the food & drinks-wow!

The food here is amazing! Beginning with the salsa, which was fantastic and packed with so much flavor. The elote was good, but the tamale was the showstopper! The enchiladas were nice and spicy which I appreciate.
