We went to the marshwalk for the first time in a hunch, the view everywhere is amazing and breathtaking. However many places were closed due to the off season timing so it was difficult to find somewhere to be seated and to get sumth to eat. we checked down the strip and we were relived to find out they were opened. We loved everything about this little area. The servers were nice and welcoming. The food was awesome and plenty for the prices. I just wish there were more options. However everything else was a plus I recommend 9/10

Stopped in for the first time and found a phenomenal, family style atmosphere. Allie was my bartender and was incredibly friendly, professional and funny! I ordered the hot dog with coleslaw and drink. It came out fairly quickly and tasted amazing. The coleslaw was ultra fresh and really impressed me, as its hard to perfect. I highly recommend all folks in the area to stop in and say hello to Allie! I will be back soon!

A review with tips on ordering and some pros and cons from a frequent diner.

This is the restaurant on the marshwalk that my mother-in-law always took us to when she couldn’t afford some of the more expensive places but still wanted great quality seafood. Also, lots of extra points for not cutting down some of the trees, including the one that is right next to the bathroom. I know we really value our trees here, especially along the marsh, and many of the restaurants have trees growing in the middle of the patio, but the one that’s growing right next to your bathroom is spectacular. Well done for not chopping it down!

Such a solid and inexpensive choice along the marshwalk. Inexpensive is somewhat relative, but any of the other restaurants flanking it are at least 20 to 30% higher in price. This is also so casual. Of course, several of these are “beach casual“ but something about Creek Ratz feels super casual. Super beachy vibe. There is an indoor seating area and an outdoor seating area and then another outdoor seating area and then another space closer to the marsh. They really take advantage of the outdoor seating.

You can count on quality baskets here and fried shrimp and my husband just recently had a spicy shrimp Reuben that was really on point. I think my only complaint, and this is a really small one, is that they don’t make their own dressings. So when you order a salad they give you a packet of Ken’s dressing. Another small negative is that the hush puppies are smaller than some of the other places. That’s not enough to take off a star, because the atmosphere and the quality for the price is so good.

They will often have live music, but it’s not so intrusive that it is blocking out dinner conversation. Overall, laid-back, great value and quality and a perennial favorite for us. Plus… They do have a fireplace inside for the colder months.
PS. Some of the best sweet potato fries on the beach, because they have that added cinnamon sugar! Yum!

Server was fun, attentive, had good recommendations. The other server up front also seemed to be having fun with her tables. Food showed up hot and fresh. The crab stuffed mushrooms stole the show, but I really enjoyed the fried seafood platter. Not a massive liquor selection, probably not your go-to bourbon destination, but I’m sure their mixed drinks are great. We left right as the live band was doing sound check, we would have loved to see how the show was. Will definitely be back.

We were seated immediately, even though we were there during restaurant week. The food was delicious and the server was very attentive. The piped in music was a little too loud. We had a hard time hearing each other.

Stopped by to check out the coldest drinks on the marsh walk. Had a great time with our bartender Brooke. If you find yourself in Murrells Inlet check out Creek Ratz and get the souvenir cup.

My parents enjoyed the shrimp and grits. I ordered the blackened shrimp, blackened flounder and fried oysters. It also came with four hush puppies. The shrimp was a bit rubbery, the flounder was great and the oysters were perfect. The hushpuppies were just okay.

My side salad was very minimal (2 cucumber slices, spring mix and an unripe tomato). I also asked for onions and didn’t receive any.

The biggest issue was at checkout. There was no sign anywhere stating there’s a 3% surcharge for using a card. The waitress inserted our card without giving us the option to pay with cash first and we also weren’t given a receipt to review before paying. We were told we’d receive it afterward. I prefer to look over the receipt first to make sure everything is correct.

Overall, the food was mostly good, but the service and lack of transparency during payment really took away from the experience.

Took my family here while on vacation. We had an amazing experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, the food came out hot and delicious, and everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. What really made the night stand out, though, was our waitress Emma. She was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Her recommendations were spot on, and she checked in often without ever being overbearing.

Our family went here for lunch. These lady that was our waitress was very polite.

My wife and I got the fish taco’s. They were amazing. The fried version was exactly what you would expect, the boom boom sauce was fantastic and just right! The blackened versiin was !!! It wakes your taste buds up with a nice smack of spice with some amazing flavor from the fish.

Our son ordered the kids pizza, which he loved. Our daughter got the fish nuggets and couldn’t eat them fast enough.

The sweet potato fries are AWESOME!! We will definitely be making Creek Ratz a staple stop when we visit the area again!!
