This is one of my favorite locations. It’s easily accessible, the employees are super nice and go out of their way to nake sure you’re happy with your food. I love their okra and one day they didnt have any on the buffet. One of the managers was going around asking if everyones meals were good and if they needed anything. I told him everything was great except there was no okra nor a place for any like they didnt out any out that day. He told me he would go check and see if they had any. Not even 10 minutes later he brought me a bowl of hot, fresh fried okra just for me❤️ Evidently they were running low so they didn’t put any out that day. Gestures like this dont happen often. This man went out of his way. He didnt have to do that for me but he did. My fiance and I live about 20 minutes away. There’s one 5 minutes from our house (the big I240 location) that has a much bigger variety of food but the service doesnt even come close to the Norman location so we make the extra drive. Because of this small act of kindness! I recommend this location! We eat out a lot so you can trust my honest opinion. ❤️

Banana Pudding Betrayal in Norman
A cautionary tale of dashed hopes and dessert deception
I walked into the Golden Corral in Norman, Oklahoma with one mission: banana pudding. Not just any pudding—the kind that makes you pause mid-bite and whisper, “They still remember.” Thick, creamy, layered with softened wafers and real banana slices. Topped with a generous cloud of whipped cream, like a crown on a Southern classic.
But Norman didn’t remember.
What I got was a scoop of vanilla pudding with a few dry wafers tossed in like someone was trying to meet a corporate quota. No texture. No soul. Just cafeteria sadness in a bowl.
And the worst part? I’ve seen better banana pudding at other Golden Corrals across the country. Norman’s version wasn’t the standard—it was the outlier. The kind of outlier that makes you question everything you thought you knew about buffet dessert integrity.
Golden Corral, you can do better. Norman should be the cautionary tale, not the template.
Also—when the pizza looks like cardboard, it’s time for a new one.

Several months after this review I was contacted by corporate and my information was shared with the local Golden Corral. They never reached out. Furthermore, I went back again and can report at least the pizza wasn’t like a cardboard this time. However, they are still not doing the banana pudding, right. I’m not sure what they’re doing but it’s like fake vanilla pudding with some wafers thrown in there. There wasn’t even any bananas this time. The taste is not consistent with any other Golden Corral that I’ve been to. Very disappointed with this Golden Corral. Otherwise all the food was good.

Not the variety you would typically expect, but the food was tastey and flavorful. The staff was fast and friendly. With a very limited menu (compared to most golden corals I have been to) being my only “dislike’ I should add how clean the place was INSIDE. Not so much outdoors.

The food was good although I would have preferred the hot food items to be piping hot.
But what I wanted to be sure to tell you is that the service was excellent. My assigned waitress was Dorothy & the floor waitress was Sylvia.
I was never forgotten; I was regularly asked if everything was all right & if they could get me anything else.
One more thing: Sylvia even stopped her duties and came over and picked up my cane where I’d dropped it and handed it to me. Friendly, watchful, & happy to help… what more could you ask for in service?

Golden Corral. A place that truly encapsulates the American Dream. Until you look at the food too hard and realize it is somewhat nasty and definitely not something you’d want to put inside your temple of a body. Take care of yourselves, folks. Don’t get too much dessert or you’ll end up wishing you were never born. (Speaking from personal experience.)

I have been to other Golden corrals and this one by far was at the bottom of the list. I was very surprised the difference in the food here compared to the other places. The food was not hot, only warm. There wasn’t as much flavor, there really wasn’t anybody Manning the steak station to get you cuts of meat, the buffet has signs of neglect as far as getting it wiped down and keeping it filled. The taste of the food was not that great, and the selection was much smaller than other Golden corrals. I try not to say this very often however, I would not recommend that you go to this particular restaurant. Our server was amazing!!

I have always LOVED Golden Corral..in Shawnee OK. I have lived in Norman a year and finally got to go to Norman Golden Corral. It has to be the worst experience I have ever had! And to think I had to pay $60 for 3 people who were able to get like a total of $5 worth of food down. Best thing there was the Coke I drank. It was just a little after 5pm and you would have thought they would be ready for dinner folks. But when we went to get food, everything looked dry and old. It was very disappointing. Never returning and sharing our experience with others!

Great staff. Food selection is limited here compared to most other locations. At least a third less options than normal. Odd having scooped ice cream instead of soft serve. Food was cooked fine, but their steak was meh.

Ordered lots of food for 15 person Thanksgiving dinner. The wait staff was very friendly, attentive, and eager to help. The food was excellent and the order was correct. The general manager even helped me load the food into my car! Great service!

Food was ok, but I guess when you serve buffet style, it’s going yo be mediocre. What bothered me, was went yo the restroom and employee was in there at the same time. Did not wash her hands and walked out of the restroom. Gross.
