A wonderful barbecue and smokehouse style restaurant in central Charleston. We had a delicious lunch here that checked off all the boxes. The meat was tender, the sauces flavorful (but not overpowering), the textures balaced wonderfully. Just the right amount of sweet, sour, and savoury. Every bite felt worth it.

grabbed a quick lunch here at poogan’s and gave their smoked wings a try. they were fantastic. nicely spiced and the smoke level was just right. juicy inside too boot. atmosphere was nice and service was friendly. certainly would go back and try the rest if the menu when i have more time.

The ribs were tender but not extremely flavorful. The sauce isn’t cooked on the meat, its in containers on the table. Corn bread was great. Pork belly app was good. Burger anfmd Turkey sandwich my friends had were good. Drinks were great. Seats in the booth were upholstered and had crumbs all over them.. that should be cleaned after each group leaves.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night – they were completely out of pulled pork and burnt ends on the menu. Resorted to the dirty Mac and shredded chicken which was a terrifying sight that barely resembled Mac n cheese with cold pieces of chicken on top. Overall a very disappointing experience at Poogans as it was my first time visiting Charleston hoping for a fun bbq dinner. See pic for proof!!

These were some of the BEST ribs we’ve ever eaten. So full of juicy smoked flavor! These ribs had more meat on two bones than a whole rack at most restaurants back home! Highly recommend!!

What truly made the experience exceptional was the bartender Cailey. She was absolutely amazing! She was friendly, attentive and genuinely passionate about what she does. The drinks were spot on, cocktails were crafted to perfection and she created such a fun, comfortable vibe at the bar. It’s rare to find someone who elevates your entire dining experience just through their energy and professionalism. Will definitely be back!

We walked in in the corner of the bar was left dirty for about 15 minutes while we sat there the server sauce but I guess didn’t recognize that we were not the same people that left before or didn’t care it wasn’t crazy busy but definitely had people in it as it was Valentine’s day. Got the “smoked” chicken wings and asked if we could do a combo but they said it was a 45 min wait for the ribs, so we said we would take the wings to start and add the ribs likely if we’re still around for the combo. When it came time to add on the ribs he said he definitely could not do that. Women were fried as you would expect but didn’t notice any smoke flavor. Decent ambience but no idea what customer service means and from the little I tasted not what I call bbq
