Brick-oven pies & other pub fare served in rustic, brick-lined digs with local craft beers on tap.

Very busy place on Saturdays- wait was an hour and 30 mins at 7PM so we went elsewhere and made a reservation for Sunday, which turned out to be a great move. The place is busy but not annoyingly busy on Sundays- good service by our waitress Kelly in the bar seating area. Nice music and perfect noise level for talking. Went with my gut and tried the dill pickle pizza- it was so delicious!! The pesto crust, dill pickle plus brine oof the bacon with gooey cheese is a divine flavor combination. Cheese curds were yummy too!

Ate here three times in four days. Needless to say, food was tremendous! We had something different each time and everything was exceptional and comment worthy. Service was equally as good. We asked questions about the location and building and received a thorough explanation of 84 East’s history. Highly recommend! Will return without a doubt!

Had a great date night here on a busy Saturday night last week! The other review here don’t lie. DON’T MISS THIS PLACE!
It was noisy and bustling when we went, but despite that fact we received extremely attentive, awesome service from our sever Emilio! I was grateful and impressed that he maintained such great customer service even at 9:30pm. He checked on us at least three times (possibly because it wasn’t the rush hour, but we were treated as though we were the only customers there)
Our food was an experience all its own. My husband and I split the brisket tacos, Warm brussels salad, and delicata squash. All were amazing!! Definitely exceeded my expectations (even as a lover of gourmet food). The Warm Brussels Salad was good enough to stuff oneself! The Road to Hannah cocktail was also a new favorite of mine, very fresh and bright.
The chill, non-rush attitude in regards to our bill reminded us of our visit to Italy. They didn’t hand it over and tell us “no rush” (still feels like a rush, doesn’t it?), we were simply checked on multiple times until we were done eating, and ready to pay.
Overall, we had a wonderful time at Hops. These kinds of food experiences are what make memories!

I would give this place 0 if I could . 1 hour wait with only 2 tables aside from ours (not busy ) . Ordered a kiwi watermelon margarita came back tasting like pineapple no sign of watermelon or kiwi we asked to take it back for a mango margarita, waitress came back & it AGAIN had no sign of mango looked like a regular margarita we opted for Pepsi . Then we waited over an hour for 5 burgers and kids Mac and cheese . Other tables were served before us . We had to ask for manager once we did our food was magically ready. Bun was crispy CRUNCHY . We were also served basic chips CHIPS they didn’t even have to cook that . So why did it take over an hour ? Well simply because we are BROWN colored . It was clear as day . I would not recommend

My bride and I wanted to be downtown Holland around the shops and dining. The restaurant popped up with ChatGPT recommendations based on what we wanted and it was great atmosphere, good food reviews, and full bar. This place did not disappoint in any category. I personally ordered the pot pie for that night and was blown away on the crust and the flavors of the short rib! We will return!

Our server Nick was great! There wasn’t much of a wait at all and service was pretty fast. Great selection of apps, meals, and drinks. Everyone at my table was happy with their choices. Will definitely visit again!

Great upscale bar food; real cheese curds for example, they weren’t the frozen square ones all the bars have now. Good service, a little less attentive than I would expect for a slow afternoon, we probably would have ordered more drinks or another round of apps but overall great place and fun, casual bar vibe.

I love old buildings and the history they invoke. When done right it’s truly a top notch atmosphere and hops does it right. From the old brick walls that still have old advertisements on them to the tin ceiling it’s just a pleasant environment. They have two long narrow rooms that were probably separate in the past, but combined they allow plenty of seating.
I ordered the Pastrami on Rye ($18). This is House smoked brisket pastrami, Swiss cheese, grilled onion, house pickles, and rocket sauce on sourdough rye. It is delicious. Complex weave of flavors all coming together to be a heck of a sandwich. I really enjoyed the pickles on them. I only got the chips with them and they were ok, but nothing special. The person I was with ordered the Trumpet Burger ($), a 2019 James Beard Foundation Blended Burger Project Award Winner. This is a 70:30 grind of local brisket and Pebble Creek mushrooms, house bacon, Roelli Red Rock cheddar bleu, Gochujang pickled shallot, arugula, and duck mayo on a sesame seed bun. It was declared to be fantastic. I had some of the fries that came with it and they were very good.
The service was excellent. Very efficient and friendly.
Overall an easy 5 star review. I understand why it’s so popular in Holland and I will return.

I’ve been to many fine dining restaurants and I will tell you that the food here is even better than some of them. The place looks laidback and chill, but the food they serve is top tier. From the simple Potstickers bursting with flavor, to the delicious Pebble Creek Mushrooms, and the main event, the Salmon. I decided to order the Salmon after reading one raving review about it and it was the right decision. The salmon was cooked to perfection, the asparagus risotto was flavorful, the garlic sweet pea emulsion, chili oil, and pickled mustard seed tied the dish together. I’m rarely impressed by food and I’m telling you that this Salmon dish is PHENOMENAL. I almost felt like crying because it was so good. They have great drink selections too, I ordered the Kiwi Watermelon Margarita and it was so refreshing. We cleared all our plates and drinks, it was money well spent and we’d love to visit again to try other dishes. Compliments to the chef and the kitchen crew. Also want to commend our server, Breckon (I hope I got your name right) for the great customer service. If you ever find yourself in Holland, MI, you’d regret skipping this place!

I got the deep fried burger, my wife got the tacos. She thought they were very good. Burger flavor was good but should have anticipated the grease saturated buns. Wouldn’t recommend this one. The fries were good though. Requested water refill took a long time. Seemed pretty pricey. Menu on a tablet seems like a gimmick, but I guess it makes for easy changes.
