Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn’t help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we’re still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

The employees were kind and friendly. Everybody there spoke with professionalism. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars is the food wasn’t up to par. It tasted good but I ordered the Jalapeño Cheese Burger and there were very few jalapeños. Kind of just thrown together. Place was clean though, including bathrooms.

I am writing this to hopefully catch the attention of a manager that cares. We ordered a Cobb salad in the drive thru tonight at 9:31pm 5/13/2025.
The chicken is old and dry. Tried to talk with the “manager” and all they said is it’s not old. Would not replace the chicken or new salad. NOTHING! Very rude and no care at all. Even when we pointed out the times on the lid shows the salad wasn’t even supposed to be served after 5:16pm. Posting pics to show time and how dry the chicken is.

Picking up doordash orders, I decided to get something healthier to eat. So I asked for the grilled chicken sandwich. No big deal it’s on the menu. Then after waiting a while for everything and paying my bill, I was holding the first sandwich and wiping the gratuitous mustard off the what appeared to be a stepped on bun. It was very burnt but I was about to eat it while waiting for the delivery orders. Then the rep from the window asked me if the sandwich was OK which I said was maybe too much mustard and looked stepped on but I’m just waiting for deliveries. So she made me another sandwich without me asking and then took the over cooked one and gave me an undercooked one that was cut in half indicating they were unsure of temperature. Just use the thermometer so you know it’s 165° if you get uncertain. Don’t give a customer raw chicken from a drive thru. It’s instant diarrhea. And I ate a chunk of it before seeing it.
Returned to the same location march 8th, 2025. This time to pick up a doordash that is taking forever because the location locked the lobby and has a slow moving long line. So I order a shake from the menu. After hearing my subtotal with tax i realized the menu is not up to date with register prices. Thats illegal…. photos added for proof.
Turns out depsite repeating what i wanted, i was overcharged for something i didnt ask for.

Attempted to place orders for family lunch, the initial order was for a customized kids burger with mayo, tomatoes and lettuce the manager on duty informed me that I can’t add tomatoes to a kids burger… at a burger restaurant? First and only time I’ve encountered this at a Whataburger. Even with a up-charge the Whataburger on 521 Kings Highway does not make alterations to the sandwiches? Other than refusal to change burger fixing staff seemed friendly and polite. Very strange experience.

Took a really long time to get our food. We came in after a field trip needing to hurry. Kids wanted Mexican down the street, turns out we had the same amount of time as we waited for our order at Waitaburger.

Food was alright only took 30 minutes for 2 burgers and we were the only people in there other than the employee sleeping at a table. Employees were cutting up and partying in the back kinda wanted to see if it was really that fun back there.

There is no reason for being in a drive thru longer than 12 minutes. Everyone’s food should be done if there’s a line. Perhaps during the work rush the establishment should be fully staffed until lunch rush.

I ask for Double cheeseburger with everything on it and a Root beer. I got 2 piece of meat with a little mustard no cheese so when I went back up there and told her about it she told me I didn’t ask for you I told her yes I did so then she proceeded give me a bag with mayonnaise in it and two pieces of cheese in the bag are you serious I said. Who gives a customer cheese in a bag smfh unprofessional. And I ask for a manager to make my burger over which I shouldn’t have to ask them to do that that should been done off the top of the dome.

Ordered three double meat whataburger meals with different drinks. Had to repeat my order three times because the guy taking my order kept forgetting what I had just said. Waited half an hour in the drive thru, only to receive three unlabeled drinks and 3 junior combos instead of what I’d ordered.
