Multiple times have given me the wrong order. Gave all cheese bites instead of fries and burger wasn’t fully cooked. Able to salvage the burger with the air fryer, but I now have a pissed off toddler because there aren’t fries.

I ordered a charbroiled BBQ chicken sandwich, and what I got was an unrecognizable piece of chicken completely black on the underside — not just “char grilled,” but charred solid. Either the grill hasn’t been cleaned, or someone just forgot it was even cooking. The photo speaks for itself. It was inedible, which sucks because I had just gotten home from work and was STARVING.
To make things worse, my order was wrong. I asked for mac n cheese bites and got fries instead. Honestly, I can see why so many reviews mention mix-ups — the drive-thru speaker is so garbled you can barely understand the person on the other end, and they clearly can’t hear you either. She probably heard fries. They were limp but fine, and the hush puppies were honestly wayyyyy too crunchy, like they had been sitting under a heat lamp all day, or just way too overcooked.

One meal did not have the corn dogs and instead received a burger, and the other meal did not get the nuggets even though everything was typed in correctly. This cookout is really hit or miss. I should know to check the food by now before leaving bc of how many times this has happened. Called customer service, no answer.

Cook Out is a staple in Columbia, South Carolina. There are multiple locations serving a variety of burgers and types of chicken sandwiches. Our food was delicious, but the star of the show were the shakes. They have 44 varieties. I had the peanutbutter fudge, and it was perfect. They are very thick, so be sure to grab a spoon. There are quite a few flavors I can’t wait to try.

Went here at 8:30 with friends on our motorcycles and had a amazing food, got nuggets which came out fast and met the nice lady behind the counter which you can tell is a worker.

I usually never have an issue with my order, but unfortunately today was different. I originally ordered a cookout tray with the spicy sandwich only lettuce, an additional side of fries, and hush puppies. I ordered fine at the speaker came around, paid and received my order. I left to my destination and then was able to open the food. I saw the sandwich was wrong and went back. I tried to tell them the issue at the speaker but the young lady kept saying she could not hear me and pull around please. I went and showed her the receipt for the food and it was correct on the receipt but was made incorrectly. She then stated she could not take the wrong sandwich through the window and to hold on. A few moments later a gentleman asked her if I wanted cheese or anything. I stated no thank you. I received the new sandwich in a bag. I parked and AGAIN it is wrong. This time they gave me a burger with only lettuce. I was so frustrated that I did not go back for the THIRD time and chose to just right this review. Photos are below. Oh and the buns had little pieces of what looks like foam or something and a piece of a little hair on the lettuce.

1 star seems severe but I couldn’t eat my food so I’m not sure how else to rate that. My pork sandwich came COVERED in raw onion. Why is there onion on a pork sandwich to begin with? I didn’t think to request no onion and it’s not listed on the menu. I didn’t think to check before I left the restaurant and I’m not driving the 10 minutes back so no dinner tonight it is.
Update: Cookout responded to this review with a telephone number that rings, puts you on hold, and then gives you a voicemail line. Very strange.

My fiancée and I ordered food here about a week ago, and I’ve been meaning to leave a review since then. We absolutely enjoyed our meal. I’ve been visiting this location since it first opened, and the food has always been outstanding. The staff are wonderful, and the overall experience is consistently excellent.

Best ff rest in Lex. 5 stars in every category there is. Best food, best prices, best service, easy in easy out. I go in but they got drive thru. Only ff we eat anymore is at Cookout.
