Cafeteria-style eatery serving country-fried chicken & other soul-food staples in a down-home space.

I usually don’t leave reviews but this has to be some of the worst soul food I ever had in my life. The Mac and cheese has no seasoning or flavor. It tastes like noodles and water. The yams and greens taste old. Only thing that was decent was the fish. I would not recommend in the slightest. If I can give zero stars I would

I do not like leaving bad reviews for anyone, but as a new resident to Charlotte, looking for great places to grab a bite to eat this was one of my least favorites which sucks because it’s so close to my house. The service was great. everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, but the food was lacking in flavor. The most edible thing on my plate was the turkey wing, and even that wasn’t great. This place could really be better if some adjustments were made to the Food sadly, I will not be back.

The food is all fresh and cooked to perfection. Chef Andrè and his team are so hospitable you’ll feel like you’re dining at home.

We wanted to try some place new. Typically the ” hole in the wall” spots have the best food. We ordered three plates, the price was perfect $13 which included meal and drink. Portions were perfect, food was good but beans had no flavor and fried chicken had no seasoning and was extremely dry. To have to salt my food after its cooked is not cool especially for a ” soul food ” restaurant. We also chose to takeout instead of dine in because the inside needs renovations. Hopefully this review helps them improve.
We’re taking our business back to Nana morrisons which is THE BEST in Charlotte.

I haven’t left a review in ages but here goes…my family and I decided to give this place a try due to the affordable prices and figured hey the little spots in the cut are typically bangers but not to be rude….EEEEYUCKKKK!!! I ordered a large meal with BBQ ribs and fried whiting with yams, collard greens and Mac-> the most edible things were the cornbread and whiting which tasted like it had no seasoning, neither did the ribs and the meat was so chewy I had to spit it out because I couldn’t break it apart in my mouth, the collard greens were sour as soon as it put it in my mouth, the Mac and cheeses had less flavor than Velveeta, and oh right the yams were okay, also flavorless though, all this to not be mean but as a new CLT person I’m extremely disappointed with the food especially when Soul Food is typically FULL of flavor! Please do better!

Okay, so not to be as if I am trying to bash anyone or speak ill on an establishment. In my honest opinion, this is just my experience for the first time. I did not expect buffet style good sitting in warmers with some meat made to order. I did appreciate the fact that the young fella waited until my meat was done before asking what sides I wanted and then fixed my plate. The lemonade was delicious. I wanted sweet tea, but it tasted like it needed a fresh batch. I had the whiting small plate, which consists of one meat and two sides. I complimented my whiting(prefer more seasoned)with fried okra (prefer more seasoning), cornbread (spot on), and Mac and cheese( prefer a less salt/pepper flavor), and a slice of pecan pie. My issue with a buffet is that the food in past experiences is barely warm. Same experience today. Atmosphere was nice, establishment clean, servers were nice, professional, and knowledgeable. We heard a lot about this place and was excited to try. I imagine if it was me, I couldn’t do better, and it is what it is. Portions are generous, and that’s appreciated. Overall, for myself, my family and friends, It’s okay.

I ordered last week & used one of the suggested online food ordering services Seamless. Upon arrival, after I had already paid, the cook informed me that they didn’t use Seamless only Uber Eats and Door Dash. I explained that it was on their Google page. He told me there was nothing they could do because “we don’t use that” & they didn’t receive payment. I had to get a refund and repay in person. *DO NOT USE SEAMLESS*
I ordered a large plate : Turkey Wing, Fried Pork Chop, Green Beans, Mac n Cheese, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Roll. & Pigs Feet. Just to have a variety of things to try. The food tasted extremely bland. The gravy tasted like water and the pig feet had no flavor. I ended up switching the green beans out for llama beans. The llama beans were the best thing on the plate! Everything else just didn’t have any flavor…as far as an appearance my pork chop was slightly burnt, and my turkey wing were very light in color. To have paid $30 it was very disappointing. I went there with my mom years ago and this experience reminded me of why we never came back. I was not able to finish food after tasting it.
If you’re looking for Soulfood in Charlotte, I would not suggest this place. Unfortunately Floyds is no longer open but The Original Chicken n Ribs is a good spot!

Queen’s Soul Food delivers an unforgettable experience with its great tasting oxtails. My recent visit to this charming establishment left me impressed (it reminded me of the oxtails my grandmothers used to cook). It is hard find traditional, non-Jamaican style, oxtails these days but Queen’s Soul Food does and it is now my new spot.
The oxtails were generously portioned, with hearty pieces of that left me completely satisfied. What truly set this dish apart was the absence of any unwanted fat; each bite was pure indulgence, showcasing the chef’s commitment to quality and attention to detail.
The exceptional customer service further elevated my first and second experience. The prices at Queen’s Soul Food are refreshingly reasonable, offering incredible value for such high-quality food. It’s rare to find a dining establishment that strikes the perfect balance between quality and affordability, but Queen’s Soul Food effortlessly achieves this feat.
My experience at Queen’s Soul Food surpassed all expectations. If you’re in search of flavorful oxtails, impeccable service, and reasonable prices, look no further than Queen’s Soul Food.
Thank you Chef Andre and staff!
