Bi-level Italian restaurant with thin-crust pizzas & homemade pastas, plus a rooftop terrace.

Long awaited and definitely over due to see this wonderful chain and try their Italian cuisine. The menu is simple and not too overwhelming, the staff is attentive and truly accommodating a family of 5 with no reservation. The pizzas are truly delicious and a must try with their perfectly thin crust and toppings. The tiramisu was good, classic and was devoured in a few seconds. Would highly recommend to try if you’re in town or just in need of something delicious and hearty.

Wow, so happy we found this place! We went after our trip to The Met and the atmosphere was so welcoming, amazing low romantic lighting, beautiful tables. The food was brilliant. The tiramisu blew my mind. The tartare was utterly delicious. Amazing experience.

Overall, a good experience. The terrace was very special atmosphere wise and service was good. For the price point, the value of the food was good. Though it was not necessarily super special. It got better as you ate more, but was overall still left with an experience that was on the upper end of an average dining experience, hence 4 stars. For tourists, likely a great place to check out and better than what is in the suburbs. For a New Yorker, I felt it stands out more for the decoration, less for the food.

The food was good, the artichoke salad was delicious, the pasta was great, atmosphere was nice, easy to find a seat around 3 pm on a Friday.

Yes the service is amazing. Lots of staff who are so polite and accommodating. However this is another freezing restaurant. The chilly wind from outside diffused into the dining room every time someone arrived at street level below. Only go if it is warmer than 10 degrees outside.

Serafina Pizza was a great stop while touring Central Park. The Italian food was excellent, and everything we tried was full of flavor. The upstairs area is beautifully decorated to look like a garden, but it’s all indoors, which makes it a perfect escape from the weather. The entrance is a bit hidden from the street, but it’s worth seeking out. The waitstaff can get a little overwhelmed, especially with how close the tables are, but they’re attentive and work hard to make the experience enjoyable. Definitely a spot I’d return to.

Super cute location. Great menu. High prices though.
The bruschetta was really good. The penne arrabbiata was amazing and felt like a lot more pasta than I was expecting. I didn’t think it was spicy, but the waitress did mention it and the person I was with thought it was spicy.
It was expensive, but worth it for the vibes and great food.

I had a disappointing experience with the hostess at Serafina Upper East Side on Friday evening around 5:45 PM, 2/27, and I would not recommend coming here for a pleasant time.
I politely requested to be seated at one of the open two person tables on the second floor. Despite several tables being available and being appropriately dressed in business casual for an after-work dinner, the shorter hostess repeatedly insisted that I go to the third floor, without offering any explanation. Even after I expressed a preference for a corner table on the second floor, the request was dismissed.
I chose not to escalate the situation and went upstairs, but the interaction felt unnecessary and awkward. A simple explanation or more courteous communication would have made a difference. Basic hospitality sets the tone for the entire experience.
Additionally, I found the food to be overpriced and average in quality. Overall, not the level of service I would expect.

We were disappointed with the service, so we left a smaller tip. Our server then confronted us about it, which felt rude and unprofessional. After we explained, she essentially told us to leave—as if it were her own restaurant. The food didn’t redeem it either: the pasta was average, and the Aperol Spritz was nothing to write home about. Overall, not worth the hassle. If i dont like the service, i wont tip 20% period.

Serafina never disappoints! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by a warm, inviting atmosphere that feels both elegant and relaxed. The staff is incredibly attentive and friendly, striking the perfect balance between professional and personal.
The food is consistently delicious—fresh ingredients, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. Their pasta is a standout and the thin-crust pizzas are crave-worthy. Great wine selection, too, with something for every palate.
Whether you’re out for a casual lunch, date night, or dinner with friends, Serafina offers a consistently exceptional experience. One of my go-to spots on the Upper East Side!
