Mad Jack’s is only open for four days a week (Thursday through Sunday). It opens at 11:00 AM and people start queuing at least an hour before.

Top notch experience! We arrived around 10:50 AM on a Thursday in February and were about 13th in line. We loved the brisket, ribs, and green chile sausage, plus the gooey mac and cheese. It all easily ranks up there with some of the best in Texas. And don’t get us started on the cornbread! Easily the best we have ever had. So moist and like cake!
The food was fantastic on its own, but the friendliness of the staff really took it to the next level. Both Jack and his team were all cheerful, chatty, and made you feel welcome. We have had some of the best BBQ in Texas and around the U.S. and this was easily one of the best overall experiences!

This is handsdown the best Bbq you are ever going to have. Come early so food doesn’t start disappearing while you are waiting in line. The are open till the food runs out. They have beef ribs!! My daughter hates Cornbread and ate every single bite! We have the 1lb. chopped brisket, a brisket sandwich, half a chicken, turkey, black berry peach Cobbler and cornbread for 4 people and ate the entire thing! And the sweetest part of all was finding at we were sitting at the owners childhood table. The entire staff in lovely. They take the time to chat with their costumers who stay and eat. We will 100% be back one day.

Coming here was one of the reasons why I came to NM after hearing many good things about it.
I arrived around 10 am and was second in line. By the time they opened, there was a good number of people waiting behind me.
Ordered their Mad Jack sandwich, half pint of Mac N Cheese, and peach cobbler.
Absolutely enjoyed the sandwich. This one by far is the best bbq sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. Also Mac N Cheese was amazing.
The staff are nice, the vibes are good, and the food is scrumptious. No reason not to visit!

Finally was able to eat here with only a 20 minute wait line. Went for the sliced brisket. I was able to cut it with a plastic fork. Also had mac n cheese and mustard based potato salad. All of it was awesome. People were buying take out BBQ by the box loads. Food and staff were both awesome. Mr Jack is friendly as well and will come out and speak to customers. Drove by next day and sure enough a 1-2 hour wait line. There is a reason for this.

I must confess I’ve never really been a fan of beef brisket however I have always been told I never had it cooked correctly.
Time after time over the years it’s always been dry and disappointing.
When we drove by on Saturday and saw the line wrapped around the building we decided to come back early Sunday before they opened and get in line instead.
I admit it was absolutely worth it!
This weekend was different and for the 1st time Mad Jack’s completely changed my mind. Their brisket was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. I could tell immediately they put real care into their craft and take pride in what they serve.
The service was just as impressive. Everyone was friendly, upbeat, and made the whole experience feel special. It was immediately obvious to me that the owner understands how to create a great customer experience with all the right personalities in the correct parts of the process from order until you are leaving the restaurant full of delicious BBQ.
If you’re anywhere near Cloudcroft, do yourself a favor and stop by Mad Jack’s. It’s one of those rare places that truly lives up to the hype. Five stars all the way!

I’ve tried a lot of BBQ, but Mad Jacks has officially set the bar. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, and the staff is so helpful and kind. I ordered the brisket and it was life-changing—easily the best brisket I’ve had yet. Make sure to stop by and give them a try, you won’t regret it. Love the fireplace too

Arrived to the place at 11:20 on Sunday. The line was massive but I read that it takes around 30min to get in. At around 12:50 they already did not have several items including Dino ribs which I wanted to try..I got my brisket only at 13:11. also if I decided to arrive at 1pm I would have to still wait for 45+ minutes looks like.Service, food and atmosphere were great but the queue management needs improvement. And when I got my seat in the dining room, there was like 25% of seats available, so the seating was not the reason for the queue! Also guys, put stickers on the line like in Disney Land “if you stand here, expect to wait for 1.5 hours”. I would have appreciated it as a customer! The brisket still was amazing though ngl but pls fix the line!

This place was delicious, and located in the heart of Cloudcrofts downtown area. The staff was very nice and welcoming, we went there close to closing and they still offered us brisket sandwiches and potatoe salad. It was so good I wished we would of gotten there a little earlier to try different food options. But they do get busy with a line so going after the rush was a bit more calm fewer chioces but I did like that it was good environment kid friendly as well.

The absolute best bbq I’ve ever had. Better than anything you’ll have in TX, VA, or TN. Wish I could go back every month. We waited in line for over 3 hours but it was totally worth it.
