Very good General T’so chicken.
Way better than any other Chinese food in town.
I will definitely be back to try other items on the menu

12/14/23 – Once again The pearl of The Orient was great! I tried the Lemongrass Beef and had a calamari appetizer. It was delicious. The restaurant is clean, great food, and the staff is awesome.
If you like Asian food, you gotta come check this place out

It’s really nice to have a pho place in town. My husband loved his pho. My udon noodles were tasty with fresh ingredients. My son’s complaint about his meal was that “the sauce has too much flavor.” For my husband and I, this was a plus 🙂 We went late so it wasn’t so busy. Food was out in minutes. Friendly staff.

Had such an excellent experience tonight! We had Tommy as our waiter, and honestly we will be back just to have him be our waiter again. Our food was very good! Had pad Thai, Singapore noodles, and kung pao chicken and all were delicious. My mom and I both had the ginger mojitos which were VERY good. Highly recommend trying it and they give you plenty of food.

Food was very good. Atmosphere nice. Service friendly but slow. Bottle of sake yummy and extremely affordable. Dinner for 4 of people of varied tastes, two appetizers, and everyone left happy at $140.

LNAO…glad I didn’t read the one star reviews; otherwise, I would not go here. Well, I went, and yeah, the service was maybe a B for a grade, but I thought the food was delicious! The Spring Roll was better than most places I have been to. I wanted to be safe, so I ordered Pho. The pho again was B. Was it great? No, but I’m not sure if I’ve had GREAT Pho before. I had horrible Pho before, and it was down in Chicago, and THIS wasn’t it. Overall, my experience was a B, and if there is anything to complain about…it’s the price. It’s crazy for me to pay $17 for a bowl of Pho when I used to pay $6.95 for a large bowl…yes it was almost two decades ago, but still. I definitely would stop by again, and yes, I’m glad I don’t have to go to Madison for Pho…Hopefully, my next time will be at least as good, if not better.

p.s. it may have started two decades ago paying $6.95, but thanks to the BRANDON’s economy and idiots like…enjoy paying these high prices as of recent. Same pricing all over btw…Madison is not less.

Been waiting for the Pearl to open here in Janesville. The food is fantastic, I had the Pho and my wife had the Shrimp Pad Thai, while the kids split a fried rice. I like the decor and the staff is friendly.

Wow!! Third visit and third time ordering a vermicelli noodle bowl. I think I found my perfect combination in the RV8. Beef Lemongrass Coconut Noodles. I added 2 pork egg rolls on top. Loved the beautiful and skillful presentation and fresh flavors. And today was by far the best service from T, who will go the extra mile at 100 miles per hour. Well done!! I could eat here every day.

First time for us. The Calimari was spot on! Delicious. The sushi was above average. Will be back to try more!
It was a little slow for service but the staff was great.
No refills in drinks unless it’s water.

Go Bananas with the Crazy Monkey Roll ( even though it was just ok, never gonna order it again tbh).
Service was better than expected.
Singapore Noodles were bland.
Dragon Roll rocked my world.
Spicy Crab Roll was the after party.
Not enough napkins.
House Sake was average.
Thought we saw someone’s brother, but that was someone else.
Def gonna go again.

This is an updated review from my second visit. We returned one week after our initial visit and I’m happy to say that the front of house is now organized and running smoothly. It was a pretty busy Saturday afternoon and everything appeared to be running smoothly.

I had the Singapore noodles and a couple of sushi rolls. I really enjoyed the noodles, the presentation was great, vegetables super fresh, perfectly prepared and the meat plentiful.

I look forward to exploring more of the menu items on future visits. Others have said that the thought the pricing to be high, but on both visits, I was surprised how low the check was.

First review – 3/11/2023 – Despite the mixed reviews we decided to give Pearl of the Orient a try. As others have said, the front of the house is a mess. Nobody seems to know what section they should be serving. We ordered an appetizer, sushi rolls and mains. Oddly, they all arrived at the same time!

The Summer Roll was pretty good, as was the maki. What shined were the Vietnamese options. The Pho was excellent as was the Banh Mi chicken sandwich. Everything we had was very fresh as well.

The menu is huge, as well as the space, which may be a challenge for them. Apparently, they have only been open for two weeks, so I think that over time the service issues will be settled.
