I ate before my camera did the food was so good! I got the shrimp enchiladas with rice and beans. Since it’s close to Valentine’s Day they had a special on a dinner for two. They do only have selected options and they didn’t let me change the meat but it still hit the spot. I brought both of my kids here and my toddler loved the food as well.

El Rey Restaurant and Bar went out of there way to help me, they treated me with kindness, food was outstanding, and the owner LITERALLY gave me the shirt(jacket) off his back. I’m from Fresno, and I accidentally got stranded in Delano, and when I discovered there was no bus station, my phone was dead, on top of being soaked head to toe. Nothing was even open, except for El Ray’s, but that’s all I needed. He allowed me to charge my phone, so I ordered an Ice cold, I guess it would be like a tall boy Pilnser, bud- light, the days 5$ special, while my phone charged. There was apparently a party, so the mood was up- beat and festive. As I spoke with the owner, relaying my story, he understood my predicament and as a kind and caring person would do, he hooked me up with some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in awhile, a Lil bit of everything, and when it was clothing time I asked if maybe there was something dry I could wear in lost and found, he went to look and a few minutes later said no there wasn’t, but I could have his jacket. He didn’t have to do that, I got myself in the bad situation, but he said it’s what he hoped someone would do for him. I gratefully took it, the food, and obviously survived the night to be writing this review. So if you want the best music, the best food and drinks, but also the best people? Then there’s only one place to go in Delano, Ca. And that’s El Ray’s Restaurant and Bar.

It’s unfortunate- I really want to give this place a 4-5star but service is terrible. Food is great. I got the Swiss Enchiladas Chicken *generous portion if you ask me, which is a good thing.* I also got the Strawberry Mojito and the Pink Pirate, between the two, I loved the Pink Pirate (much tastier). Idc how busy a restaurant gets, nobody should have to stop in the middle of eating to wait for a refill. The first time we ate this restaurants food was take-out, so today, we wanted to eat here for the first time. Good food, terrible service.

If you love Mexican Cuisine as much as I do, I definetly recommend “El Rey Restaurant.” The food was prepared excellent in my opinion.
My overall experience I rate 5 stars based on the food, service and clean establishment. They also have a separate lounge and spacious patio area. The bar is full service and about 40 beers on tap.
I for one will definetly be returning to this restaurant to taste their delicious cuisines of Mexican Culture❣️

I feel like they restarted cool local spots after the pandemic in Delano. The food is all so damn good with such a wide variety of Mexican cuisine. They have the widest selection of beer including craft beer (a rarity here) & the absolute BEST mixed drinks in Delano! Such a big space, good food, and cool atmosphere. Dope spot for celebrations for whatever vibe you’re going for… nice restaurant area, the dark bar section, or the lovely patio out back.
