This is a little gem. I was originally looking for donuts and found they have tacos as well!!! Two of my favorites in one place. The donut are hot and fresh and really melt in your mouth. The chocolate glaze is really chocolate and not artificial flavors. The tortillas are made my hand. With the drive and parking.

This sucks to write bc usually this place is great. The past couple of months I’ve ordered tacos and they’ve been a little off, either not enough beans or the tacos weren’t toasted or something was left out; small things. Not that big of a deal. Today however, I ordered two toasted bean and cheese tacos and I received a bean only taco and another taco that had some melted cheese and a slice of bacon, that looks like someone threw it out and then just wrapped it again. I called to maybe get a refund or to be told to swing back by for tacos and I was put on hold three times after repeating my story each time and the employees acting confused. I really hope whatever is going on with this place gets better along with customer service.

Don’t let the name fool you—while the donuts are tempting, you’ll be missing out if you only come here for a sweet treat. The Original Donut Shop is a San Antonio institution, and for good reason. They serve up some seriously good Tex-Mex, and their lunch specials are a fantastic value.
On our last visit, we both ordered the Verdes enchilada special. For just $9.99, it was a steal. The plate was loaded with Tex-Mex goodness, and the enchiladas themselves were quite delicious. But the real star of the show was the homemade tortillas. They were fresh and warm, and really elevated the meal. The special also came with a drink, making it an excellent deal that left us completely satisfied.
The service was incredibly efficient and quick, perfect for a lunch break. The atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from a beloved local taco joint—bustling and no-frills, with a comfortable, authentic feel. You’ll leave feeling full and happy, with a renewed appreciation for Tex-Mex done right.

A friend recommended this place. They like to use the drive through for a taco or something fast on the way to work. The line was long for a Saturday morning so we decided to park and go inside. There was plenty of parking and almost no line to order inside. We found a menu and ordered a potato and egg taco, bean and cheese taco, huevos rancheros plate, and sweet tea. I was impressed they were making the flour tortillas fresh at the front. There is a separate checkout for donuts and we got an apple fritter, lemon filled, and 2 chocolate filled long John’s. Everything looked delicious.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent!

Simply fantastic! Bean, cheese with bacon toasted was excellent! It can get busy – order online to save time but I couldn’t figure out how to get it toasted. Still good.

This is still one of my favorite places. They’re making the tortillas right there in front of you, they can’t get any fresher than that. And they’re good! Great tacos. Great donuts and pastries. Usually great service.

Haven’t been here in years glad to see everything still made fresh. My order got messed up, but they fixed it promptly and gave me the difference and change. They overcharged me for another taco, but I ordered something less expensive. That being said they took care of it no big deal. Only thing is it gets crowded here so that means it’s good so but that also means limited space sat at the counter and got bumped like three times sitting in my stool so I recommend sitting at a table.

I’ve been coming here for years, but unfortunately the service has gone downhill. Today they got my order wrong and forgot one of my tacos. When I went up to let them know, the employee asked if she had already given me an extra taco I told her no.
She then came around the counter to my table and started touching all of my food with her gloves without asking. I asked her to stop touching my food, but she continued and then walked away.
This was very unprofessional and unsanitary. I’ve always supported this place, but experiences like this make it hard to keep coming back. I hope management addresses both order accuracy and how customers are treated.

Authentic breakfast tacos and donuts at a great price! I got the bean & cheese, bean & cheese w/bacon toasted, and the chorizo & egg. All were filled nicely. I could barely finish all 3 tacos. They are made fresh and came out hot. The salsa is good to add some flavor spice. I poured it all over all my tacos. I wanted to get the cinnamon crumb cake donut since heard good things but they were out so I got the cinnamon twist donut which was solid. Had an original donut and nice cinnamon taste. It wasn’t fresh when I got it but I can’t be upset about that since I went at 1. Service isn’t friendly but it wasn’t bad enough to steer me away. Definitely worth checking out and I’ll be back.

I give it 2 stars because the tacos are good. I’ve been thru the drive thru 2 times and the “lady” at the window was truly rude and unhelpful both times. I don’t care how good the tacos are, it’s not worth dealing with someone with such a bad attitude. I will be sure to spread the word on this one. There are too many great Mexican restaurants to waste your time and money here!
