French fries were great, but that’s the only positive thing I have to say. I ordered a dirty martini which came out extra dirty with extra olives. I asked for a remake and the bartender came over to ask for more specifics about how I’d like it made. I appreciate how she handled it, but it came out about half full. I would imagine that’s some sort of restriction from the cheap management, and less on her skills – the second round tasted lovely. I ordered the French dip, I love a good French dip. I SWEAR it had turkey on it, and it came out with a scary white au jus. I asked the manager (I think) what kind of meat was supposed to be on it, and he said prime rib, turns out the menu says roasted pork. I abandoned the sandwich after a couple bites. No one came around to check on the situation or offer a remedy or even ask questions about the situation. When checks came I approached the manager and said I’m not okay for paying for the sandwich but would happily pay for the fries. He said that wasn’t an option but suggested I could have ordered something else. I said great, I’d be happy to take a Togo box. He said he’d look into it and walked away. 10 minutes later he retuned and said it wasn’t an option and I had to choice but to pay for a meal I didn’t eat or want to eat. Yikes. This place is trying to be more than it is. Get better customer service.

My favorites of my meal were the regular sized crab cakes (appetizer) and peach cobbler (dessert- highly recommend). The ribs were seasoned and flavorful. I just like a sweet or tangy bbq sauce on mine.

Awesome place to visit at the Mills.
Food was great!
Issue was the wait for our food to come out. Almost an hour.
Don’t ask for mayo, that took another 15 minutes.
Could have been because of short kitchen staff? Gracie our waitress was great.
Ed the owner chef was welcoming and appreciated. Ed was walking the floor and greeting patrons.
Worth trying again, just hope the food comes quicker next time.

POOR EXPERIENCE-RUDE/OWNER-BEWARE IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES OR DIETARY RESTRICTIONS!
I visited this restaurant for the first time and asked multiple questions about the menu to ensure my meal would be something I would consume .

When the food arrived, it included ingredients not listed on the menu and not mentioned during my questions—ingredients I am allergic to. As a result, the meal was inedible.

When I explained the issue (calmly & politely), Ed Wiley, the manager/owner was dismissive, rude (*told my mother WHATEVER when she was speaking to him) refused to offer a replacement, and insisted I pay for a dish I could not eat due to their inaccurate menu information. He actually suggested just eating around the food I was allergic to. I’m not a person out here looking for a free meal, just seems like bad business to refuse a replacement and be rude.
This was a disappointing experience, and I hope they improve menu accuracy, allergy awareness, and customer service moving forward.

This was my first visiting this restaurant and really like the vibes here. Food was good but did not get what I wanted.
Disappointed with the service. Service was too slow, took forever to get the dish.
4 Stars to food.
2 Stars to Service.

Yesterday evening, I dined at The Primesmoke House in Rocky Mount, NC with a party of eleven other guests. Unfortunately, this was both my first and last experience at this establishment.
Upon arrival, we were informed that the restaurant was out of four fountain drink options as well as sweet tea on a Saturday night. While dining, one guest discovered a paper-like substance embedded in her burger. This substance was later identified as patty paper, which is typically used to separate frozen burger patties and should have been removed prior to cooking. It was served directly on the burger and partially consumed before being noticed.
We immediately notified our server, Jose, who requested that the paper be placed in a to-go container so he could show the chef. Shortly afterward, the owner, Ed, approached our table and asked what the issue was, despite already being informed by his staff. He asked the guest how she wanted the situation handled, which was surprising given the seriousness of the issue and the number of guests present. A sincere apology and immediate resolution would have been more appropriate, especially since he stated that he personally cooked the burger.
Instead, Ed dismissed the situation by stating it was “no big deal,” commented that the guest had eaten some of the patty paper, and asked if we were “trolling” him. His demeanor was rude, unprofessional, and lacking in basic customer service.
This situation could have been easily resolved by taking responsibility, apologizing, and comping the affected meal, as our server initially indicated would happen. Unfortunately, the owner’s response overshadowed any attempt at resolution. Due to this experience and the lack of accountability shown, I will not be returning or supporting this business.

Went there did not have a pleasant experience this lady right here who was our server was on her phone texting and was very slow with giving us refills. The owner was right behind us, talking with his friends and didn’t correct her behavior. Ask for my steak to be medium well and it was not. It was just well done I did enjoy the sides, though such as the mac & cheese and the cheesy potatoes The place was nice, but if you are young, don’t go there, they will treat you different cause they don’t think you can afford it We spent $75 for a bad service and mid food I would definitely recommend Lilian‘s over this place

First time there. Soooo good! Meat melted off the rib bones. Everything we had was amazing. Beautiful building with great art as well and the owner/chef came out and checked in with us , which was such an honor.

I made a reservation for 26 people for my mom’s 50th birthday celebration, and unfortunately it was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.

Upon arrival, only 4 seats were set up for our party. The host claimed she thought the reservation was for 2–6 people instead of 26, which immediately set the tone for the evening. For a reservation of that size, there should have been clear confirmation and preparation. We were informed that several menu items were unavailable because they had run out of smoked chicken. For a restaurant branded as a “Prime Smokehouse,” running out of a signature specialty is unacceptable and reflects a serious lack of planning.

We waited well over an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was barely warm and very mediocre. Several items had to be remade due to the temperature and overall appearance. The service was extremely inattentive. We had to repeatedly ask for drink refills and basic assistance throughout the evening. To make matters worse, several people in our group were charged for items they ordered but never received and had to request corrections to their checks, adding even more frustration to an already disappointing experience.

When concerns were brought to the owner, instead of apologizing for the long wait or offering any type of resolution, he argued about food being sent back because “he still had to pay for it.” There was no accountability and no attempt to make the situation right.

Despite the poor experience, each check still included an automatic 18% gratuity due to our party size, which we paid.

I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. It was incredibly disappointing, and I won’t be returning.
