Had a great Valentine’s experience. It was nice to dress up and have a nice meal. Our server was Joanne and she helped us to navigate the menu and even made some spot on suggestions! We truly had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. It was a little pricey, but it was a special occasion. I would recommend to anyone who needs a special night out!

Absolutely superb. If you live in Ocala or if you are just visiting, don’t miss this amazing restaurant. High quality food reasonably priced. Servers also amazing. Drinks very well prepared. We had the strogonoff and chicken parmigiana. Both awesome. Desserts spectacular. Go for the bread pudding.

We wanted our anniversary dinner to be somewhere new, but still close to downtown, so we made reservations and were really surprised by both the service and the food. The crab cakes were amazing! Really meaty and worth the price, best crab cakes in Ocala. Everything was great and priced fair too. Anniversary dinners can run upwards of $150-$200 for us, and here it was about $125, so we will definitely be back, and not just for special occasions.

We came to the Braised Onion to celebrate a birthday, and unfortunately, were pretty disappointed by the experience for the price.

The food lacked basic seasoning and was pretty underwhelming. Even the ribeye.

Our waitress was forgetful and not very present throughout the meal.

The highlight of the evening was the chocolate mousse. It was creamy and you could taste the good quality cocoa.

But if you are looking to celebrate an anniversary or birthday with a slightly pricey but good meal, I would look elsewhere.

This place was amazing! My daughter loved the coconut shrimp and homemade lobster mac and cheese. We are very picky with beef wellington and the beef wellington spring rolls were delicious and we like the sauce that accompanied it with. Everything was home made. We had the shrimp and grits, and the flavor was outstanding. We ended it with the ice cream which was just superb. Are server Rachel was so attentive and kind.We certainly will ask for her when we come again. We highly recommend this place for a casual vive. With five star flavors.

We visited this restaurant for a birthday celebration. We were seated in a private group area, which was cozy and comfortable. The service was exceptional, even with a large group of over 10 people. Our two dedicated waitresses were attentive and remembered our drinks throughout the meal.

The food was simply exceptional and I am French so I know my food. We started with their colossal shrimp cocktail and beef Wilmington wontons, both of which were delicious and generously portioned. Next, we ordered lobster soup and braised onion soup. The lobster soup was a bit too rich for my liking, but the onion soup was truly appreciated.

For our main courses, we chose filet mignon and New Orleans shrimp and grits. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection, as requested, and was incredibly tender and flavorful. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the shrimp and grits.

Since we had provided the birthday cake, we didn’t try their dessert.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend this restaurant.

July 9, 2025 – Two for late lunch. We were travelling many miles and need a break and to relax. Came off the highway after about 40 minutes of web, Yelp, Google, Open Table etc searching in the car.

Spoiler Alert: WORTH the diversion and as others say an unexpected diamond in the rough.

Top of the list —– SERVICE was exceptional by Allison!!!!! The zone defense kitchen and bus folks were pleasant and nice!!!! We also pleasantly and quickly seated and the host/hostess kindly said goodbye and asked about our experience. This was dining like in the 60s and 70s!!!!!

My wife got the French Onion Soup $11 that was actually vegetarian made with a mushroom base…. she loved it!!! Found out the chef or owner is a vegan??? I was disappointed no vegan or vegetarian options on the menu listed??? 9/10

She got the Hawaiian Salad $15 and added 4 Shrimp $14. The salad was fantastic and varied and fresh – REALLY awesome. 10/10 She said the shrimp were good, but at $3.50 a piece – that’s crazy. 2/10 for price.

I went with the Large Farm Salad which might sound boring and plain – it was anything but!!! A picture here somewhere. Cucumbers, onions, carrots, spinach and mixed greens, tomatoes and a lovely dressing on the side that was tasty and light. 10/10 my only quip is I would have LOVED to had a bean (garbanzo, black, kidney, anything) option to add.

I tipped more generously than usual as the service and people here were exceptional. A great dining experience.
