Amazing family-run food truck that’s been around for 20 years. We got the garlic shrimp plate (of course) and the teriyaki bone-in short ribs plate. Both were excellent and generous in terms of portion. I got double salad to avoid the mound of rice, and ate every single bite with gusto! The buttery garlicky coating on the shrimp was truly amazing, and the sticky sweetness of the beef ribs were welcomed. Condiments include hot sauce and soy sauce I believe. About 17-20 bucks per plate.
Only issue were the plethora of flies and birds trying to get a taste of your food while dining at one of their tables – but that can’t be helped!

We ordered two types of shrimp platters: the garlic shrimp and the lemon pepper flavors. I love garlic but I find they ended up putting waaay too much garlic and it became overpowering, the shrimp was also extremely oily and it got very messy while trying to peel the shell. The lemon pepper shrimp was our favorite, it had a perfect balance between being slightly peppery and zesty at the same time – and it was not greesy at all. The rice was very bland and had no flavor at all. Overall, we had a positive experience dining here.

This place is a must visit.. the best fish n chips on the island. Not to mention their shrimp is award winning (featured on dinners drive-ins and dives). Meals are half the cost of any restaurant and 10x the quality. Must try.

Garlic shrimp was messy but good. Coconut shrimp was ok. Not a lot of coconut and tasted a little like it was frozen out of a box but it could have been homemade. Nice stop with parking if you are in the North Shore area.

I caught the bus from Waikiki to North Shore (after my side trip to the Dole Plantation and Aloha Stadium Flea Market). After a short wander I found a food truck area and could see a few tables outside a food truck called the Big Wave Shrimp Truck. After taking ages to finally decide what to order (as the menu is extensive and you want to try them all) I ordered the Garlic Butter Shrimp. It was so succulent and full of flavour. Highly recommended meal at this well known eatery.

I ordered the peeled garlic shrimp — it was such a treat not having to peel them myself! However, the flavor didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The truck appears to use jarred minced garlic instead of fresh slices, and the butter sauce leaned more oily tasting than buttery. My husband ordered the steak – and for a shrimp truck, it was better than my order! Still, it was a convenient stop and the shrimp were cooked well.

Ordered the garlic butter shrimp and it was crispy, salty garlicky shrimp. The sauce was also on the rice which wasn’t even mushy like other shrimp trucks. If you know you know! Make sure to go here out of all the others!
