We went to this bar-slash-sports grill after class at GSB. We were a fairly big group, and it was already quite late at night. Unfortunately, the kitchen was closed by the time we arrived, so we just grabbed drinks and spent some time hanging out.

The place was very lively, with loud music and a high-energy vibe. Even though it was a weeknight, it was still pretty busy—probably because it’s located in a student-heavy area. Parking was easy to find nearby, though I’m not sure how it gets on weekends.

I ordered an espresso martini, which was pretty strong and well made. I didn’t get a chance to try any food, but I imagine it’s standard bar or sports-grill fare—nothing fancy, but solid for casual bites.

Overall, it’s a fun spot if you’re in the area and looking to unwind, have a drink, and hang out with friends.

By far the most affordable and high quality restaruant in palo alto or mountain view.

All plates are around 20$!!! This is amazing.

Got the pesto pasta and the chicken piccata and it was on par with a 30 or 40 $ plate at any other place.

Full bar, high quality.

See attached photos if you don’t believe me!

We went to have lunch before attending the Stanford and SJSU football game. The place was not busy, it was early afternoon. There was a group of 10 of us, adults and 3 children. We ordered wings and tots for appetizers, they were decent. All of us ordered the burgers and fries, the wait to get our food was very long and when we received it they were all burned.
They forgot one of the burgers, when we finished eating the last burger came out. We sat outside and didn’t know who our server was because we tried to flag anyone that came by to refill our drinks (coke and tea).
I was told this place was great with good food. I didn’t see anything great about this place or enjoy good food or service. We had to flag someone down to pay our $200+ bill.
If we had better service I may have rated them with 2 stars.

Updated review 12/10/2021:
The Patio is still my favorite after work, grab a beer kind of place. The staff are always nice to me. The chef consistently make great dishes. Tonight we did a few rounds of drinks over a perfectly fried plate of calamari $18 with their signature garlic tots $6. I would have ordered more food be we had dinner reservations. We were really happy to see The Patio is now crowded on a Friday night. It almost felt pre-pandemic. I really miss their wings and sausage sampler. They taste so good with beers.

The happy hour menu is back! M-F 3:30pm-7pm. Before Covid, I used to come here a lot after work to enjoy a cold beer and snack on some wings. My office isn’t opened back up yet, but I was in the area and decided to stop by. I did notice some items from the current happy hour menu was missing from the old one. Regardless, the food and service remains excellent. I love the beer and food here. It was nice to see the same chef is still there. Great job everyone at The Patio. I look forward to coming here more once my office opens back up in October. (Fingers crossed, they delayed the re-opening a few times already.)

Outdoor dining 3/30/2021. Tonight I had the mushroom Swiss cheese patio burger with garlic tots $16 and a pint of blue moon beer $7. Back before COVID started last year, we used to come here at least once a week to wait out the traffic after work. We also came here when co-workers from other offices were in town and wanted to go somewhere for a drink. No matter how bad of a day I had at work back then, The Patio kind of made it a little better. Basically any excuse to come here. Tonight I came here because I needed to pick up a package from work. No one is at the office anymore because of COVID.

We used to love the happy hour menu (no longer available) where the plates were smaller and we can order a bunch of stuff without getting too full. Our favorites were the calamari, the little sausage plate and The Patio wings. It is too bad they don’t have those small plates anymore because I was craving it. The Patio burger is still amazing. Hopefully the kitchen staff didn’t change. I did notice my favorite bartenders were not working tonight. The girl who used to bring in her baby and the big friendly guy. The waitstaff has changed. Then again, it has been a year since COVID. Regardless, The Patio remains one of my favorite bars in Palo Alto to grab a meal while watching a game. There are literally wall to wall TV’s with all the games on. Great job everyone at The Patio! Especially the chef and my waitress with the rainbow hair. Love you guys~! My cheeseburger was amaaaaaazing.

I typically come here in the evening to dance but decided to hit up the happy hour today. I ordered a Sangria and a Margarita which were ok.. I was more impressed by their tapas. Chips and salsa (the spicy salsa was my favorite). The skewers were pretty good too, ordered the beef, chicken, and veggie. The service was great and the place busy! The outdoor patio area was packed. Think I like this place best at night for dancing!

I usually have great service at the patio, but today’s experience with my boyfriend at 8:50 p.m. was disappointing. The staff seemed disorganized; our server only provided one menu and moved us twice, eventually to a dirty table. After wasting about 15 minutes, she returned to ask us to order at the bar, explaining that the servers weren’t providing service, even though she seemed willing to help a group that had just arrived, making us feel like we were being treated differently. Ultimately, we decided to leave due to the poor treatment.

The wings were phenomenal and huge! 12 wings here are like 18-20 wings at most other places. The multiple patios are large and feel like totally different areas. Something for everyone. We will be back!

They have set up a nice outdoor dining area in front of the restaurant that is covered from where you can still see the TV’s that are inside. The food is presented well and it’s substantial and tastes damn good.
The cocktails are on point and a decent draft beer selection to boot. The Patio that is “inside” is banging, plus an additional area outback for chilling as well.
Overall it is a very nice place to check out sporting events and have some good food and drinks.
